Very active carpark even in winter.

Noises very late into the night. Great view of Kapiti island. Easy access to Paraparaumu beach. Public toilet at the nearby MacLean Park.

Very nice view of the sea, but the toilets are closed at night.

Campsite an official parking lot (self-contained only), perfect for one night!!

My favourite Freedom camping site of those we staying in during our 6 weeks tour.

We arrived first (one only allowed) and, but the next morning had been joined by 2 others. We had taken photos to show we were first there, but the council obviously weren't too bothered on the Saturday we stayed.

What could be better, sitting there watching the pod of Orchas swimming between us and Kapiti Island or strolling along the beach, or eating the excellent fish and chips, freshly cooked, from the shop in Howell Road watching the sun go down - hmm, difficult choice.

Loses one point only because the footpath went past our back door, but the people were friendly :)
