We booked a flight with Air Kaikoura to see whales - of course they cannot guarantee that you'll see any but we were really lucky and saw a blue whale and a huge pod of pilot whales.
What a ride. A side from the whale spotting seeing the Kaikoura area from the air including fantastic views of the Kaikoura Ranges was amazing.

We flew in late January.

We booked a flight with Air Kaikoura to see whales in Kaikoura.
They cannot guarantee 100% that you will see them. Unfortunately, we did not see any. They do not 'have to', but they gave us a second flight (free) as a second chance. Finally, we saw whales and dolphins. We really recommend Air Kaikoura! Is an awesome experience!
