A lovely camping area that is very clean and well maintained.
The camp hosts are so friendly! There is drinking water, coin operated laundry, a communal kitchen (with a tap, microwave, and tea kettle), coin operated showers (hot water and good water pressure), and spotlessly clean flush toilets. The host was kindly willing to change out paper money for coins to operate the amenities for us.
It was a luxury experience after some of the DOC sites we had been staying at, and all for a great price ($11 per person, cash only).

Clean cheap and friendly, cash only, gravel site after rain no access to grass, showers cost and take only $1 coins.
There is a great little toy room on the lounge for kids all ages. No oven, basic kitchen. I would recommend for a night or two.

Showed up with no reservation and it was easy to snag a spot.
Facilities are adequate and basic but lovingly looked after and decorated. The managers (couple) are onsite and very sweet. It's an open site plan but grassy and scenic, and quiet at night. Late morning there's an amusing symphony of cows and birds in the distance. Would for sure return.

What a treasure this little camp is on the fringe of CHCH!
Ideal for a cleanup & regroup before heading back into the big smoke! Immaculately clean with fresh flowers in the bathrooms!

Spacious (non-powered) sites.
Friendly owner
Toilets and showers were very clean.
Lounge area is very comfortabel.
Kitchen is a bit basic and lacks a real cooking area. But for us this wasn't a problem.

A great little spot before taking on Arthur’s pass.
You pay in cash to a man who live on site in a bus. He clearly takes excellent care of the place, the kitchen and showers were spotless and homely. The flowers were beautiful. We had a free game of tennis on the tennis court in the campsite. Nice views.

Absolutely beautiful spot, greeted so warmly from the caretaker, toilets and showers are incredibly clean and very well looked after, laundry services available.
Kids hat a ball playing tennis and netball and on the playground (all equipment provided) the water is clean and great to drink from. Absolutely picturesque. Highly recommend!

A lovely campsite, only $22 for 2 of us on a non-powered site.
Drive to the office in the owners campervan on arrival and he will check you in and take payment. A very friendly couple who wanted to help with anything. $2 for a lovely hot shower for 6 mins, laundry facilities for an extra cost too. A really nice common room for people to relax in, a pretty basic kitchen with microwave and kettle but we didn’t need anything else with our camper. Beautiful views, quiet site, and the Christmas decorations and lights were a bonus too!

Loved it!
Wanted to drive further yesterday but kind of stranded in Springfield as we got some issues with our campervan after Castle Hill (by the way also a recommendation for Springfield Service Station where our car got fixed in no time this morning). Caretakers were so lovely and the shared hall was very cozy with the Christmas decoration and sofas. Showers and toilets very clean and nice. Had a wonderful evening and night here next to the sheep and very little lambs. You might hear the train but that didn’t bother us. One of our favourite spots after 4 weeks in NZ-would definitely stay again!
