Welcome to the World Home of Bungy. It was in this very spot back in November 1988 that the Kawarau Bridge Bungy became the world’s first commercial Bungy.
Today, we welcome almost 400,000 visitors to the Kawarau Bungy Centre every year. Located on the main state highway in-between Wanaka and Queenstown (just 25mins from downtown Queenstown) we are firmly entrenched on the tourist route and consider ourselves an essential stop. The Kawarau Bungy Centre is free to visit. With our large viewing decks you get the opportunity to watch the iconic and uniquely New Zealand activity of a Bungy Jump while you work up the courage to try for yourself. For your support entourage there is plenty for them to do from grabbing a bite to eat from the Bungy Café, a spot of souvenir shopping, or going for the softer thrill of the family friendly Zipride. The heritage Kawarau Suspension Bridge, (now an official landmark), where we jump from also forms part of the well-reknown cycle trails around Queenstown so no matter how to reach us – by car, campervan, bicycle or our FREE transport from Queenstown, The Kawarau Bungy Centre is not to be missed!
