Not very spacious and certainly not suitable for big caravans.

    Slightly muddy in winter.

Sites full of rubbish and not maintained.

A shady & quiet parking spot close to the Awatere River 13 km up the Awatere Valley (Molesworth) Road.

At the time of our visit the long-drop toilet was almost .. but not quite .. inaccessible because of a fallen tree. Plenty of evidence of the area having been used by campers whose understanding of the term "self contained " is limited to "bring-your-own toilet paper" and do your business wherever you like. .

Great secluded camping area that allows you to stay even if you are not self contained!

If my memory serves me right tents aren't allowed but you can sleep in your car. There's a river close by where you can do dishes and there's a toilet, what else do you need? Because its a little bit remote there was no one there when we stayed in February.

Nice place for staying, clean toilet, pure river, without too many people.

A nice secluded spot in the middle of nowhere!

A free alternative for staying along the way through Molesworth. One toilet here, otherwise it's basic. Some private spots away from the road with a river nearby to explore. No mosquitos or sandflies here....woohoo!
