A plus backpackers in Turangi, i experienced the most friendly and warm hosts during my New Zealand stay.

Our car was flooded in and we ended up here for 2 nights whilst waiting for the car to be repaired. Iain, the owner invited us in with hot milo and coffee, and they have 2 cute dogs as well. He gave us lots of advice and cheered us up although we were worried about our car. He knows a lot of the locals, and so he even arranged for a private tour of some nearby glowworm caves. Great hospitality, NZ friendliness (also free DVDs to watch) and very cheap at around 20 a night. Would definitely stay there if i go back again.
