Loop Track. 30 mins on a bike
The Mcleans Island Park area is a great family ride. Fast and smooth. It can also be walked, but riding is recommended.

I mainly use this track for cycling it is a great track for all levels , lots of families cycle this with their children.
There is a picnic area at the fork in the track where you can add another 5 kms and do the Coringa Loop which come back in a loop. It’s quite sheltered on the track from winds. I bike this track throughout the year except when raining/snowing.
There is cycle wash area by the toilet area.. gas bbqs have been installed this year by the car park nearest the cafe.
The cafe is usually open on the weekends.
When you come back from the fork where Coringa Loop system finishes you head back to where you started at the top of the stock bank you can cycle left past the golf course a long a bit you will come to a small downhill in between golf courses.. this alternative back to the car park.

A terrific bike course through pine forest.
Good mountainbike workout for the energetic, banked corners, jumps, but also ok for kids.

Excellent 15km family mountain bike (or walk) - BBQ + toilet facilities next to Waimakarari river.
