  • It's a long trip with a lot of driving, but I think it was worth it.

We had great weather for Cape Reinga. And zipping down Ninety Mile Beach in a tour bus was definitely a highlight.

  • Great day!

loved the 90 mile beach and sand boarding as well as the spiritual Cape Reinga. Craig was our guide... really knowledgeable and funny. The only reason I don't give this tour a 10 is due to the very short time we got to spend at the Cape itself... but then again we were a large group and made quite a few stops.

  • Part of the Stray package.

Loved the outdoor stuff but could have done without the tourist shop stops. Sandboarding and driving along 90 mile beach was fantastic!

  • This is a bus setup for the younger crowd/backpackers.

Our driver was "Spike" and was a good driver offering some good commentary, and some peace. This let a couple catch up on sleep.

This also meant he takes you to taller sand dune for sand boarding, and also drives fairly quickly around corners, so strap your bags in firmly or they'll slide away on you.

We could buy a sandwich at the first place we stopped for morning tea, or bring your down. Otherwise there's no place to get food till 4pm when you stop for fish and chips.

The tour was good, sand boarding was great. The only request I would have is to take it a bit easy after getting the fish and chips. It's a bit hard to eat when the bus is flying around corners. Or maybe that's just part of the fun?
