Really enjoyed this walk which is about 12 km's one way.

The track starts by crossing the suspension bridge in Albert town which also unfortunately is the site of a very ugly camp ground. The track is a nice gentle trail that mostly follows the river with views to the distant peaks. It eventually comes out at Lake Hawea where we enjoyed an excellent coffee & lake views from the local hotel before starting the return walk.

After the bridge there is a picnic/camp site set aside the river where you can swim in the brilliant blue but cold river.

Refreshing on a hot day but mind the currents.
