Information

Matai Falls Walk

1 km return | 30 minutes return

Both waterfalls are small and pretty, but not spectacular. They trickle over bluffs in rivulets, resembling brocades of jewellery. The white of the water is highlighted by deep green mosses, which encrust the surface and take advantage of abundant moisture.

Walking Track

Access

Matai Falls are signposted on the left 5.5 km east of Maclennan, where there’s a large parking bay. The track starts over the footbridge.

Track

This undulating metalled track follows the gully to Matai Falls. Horseshoe Falls are a few minutes further.

European History

Horseshoe Falls are so named because of the shape of the bluff they tumble over.

Short and easy walk into the forest where you can see two awaiting waterfalls!

High bushes so no great views.

A lot of birds around. The waterfall is reached via a branch track, nice spot.

Without spending money you can have nice walks through the rainforest and see a lot of beautiful waterfalls.

    Quiet places to calm down.
