Stayed two nights to do the Tongariro Crossing (lived up to all expectations).
We booked TCS who picked us up from the site
Well kept, beautifully landscaped area with lovely, friendly mix of nationalities, young, old, families, couples, campers, tents, lodges all together.
Decent hot shower and clean facilities.

Really enjoyed our stay here.
Owners are not at the reception for check in but always available via mail or phone, very nice people. View is amazing. We did the Tongariro Crossing with the shuttle from the campground, really well organised. Due to bad weather the first attempt was cancelled but the information to reschedule is very clear and easy.

Basic cooking facilities - just hot plates.
Showers dated but good and hot. Bathrooms clean and big pitches with nice views.

The Campsite itself is beautiful and quiet.
Restrooms and kitchen is great, hot showers and all you need is there. The only downside is the Campground Lady who is quite unfriendly and seems very annoyed with you for staying there (and paying). Try to avoid her and everything is fine. The other staff member was very nice though!

Beautiful campground!
Great view on all three volcanoes. Clean facilities, although a bit outdated. Lots of grass for the kids to run around, amazing night sky.

Beautiful place.
What a view! Ground not even on all parts so some parking places better than others. Restrooms and showers very clean! Very friendly owners .

I booked a powered campsite online here last minute in the winter and it was great!
Amazing view of Mt Doom and right next to a pasture of cows. The facilities shower, bathroom, kitchen we quite nice. Tap water is drinkable too and they encourage you to fill up your water bottles! About the same price as staying at a holiday park (~40 for 2 ppl) but so worth it.

Surrounding is beautiful.
Lady that welcomes you is very formal, you have to book and check in online yourself. Facilities are a bit outdated. In the shower hallway was fake grass, very weird. And no doors for privacy, only shower curtains. We had a nice stay though, so therefore a 6.

the lodhes from the road that you also offer look perfect.
This assumes that the campsite would also be neat and tidy. Unfortunately this is not the case, a restaurant that is not there, filthy smelly showers. Our place was a parking lot of huts that could be rented out, not nice and comfortable. You expect more, especially if you have to pay a lot. A mockery, a deception.

Location was good and the campground is quite nice.
Amenities are little bit old but everything was super clean. We were the only ones there at the time. (May 23)

We are a self contained van no power needed and the camping is wild.
If you like wilderness it is for you.
The reception is often closed but if you check un online you get a number place under 30 min before 5pm. Better if you book before arriving though !

The location is nice and the place also looks nice from the outside but afterwards we read comments about a rude woman running the place and unfortunately experienced the same.

Unpersonal as you do a self check in.
Hot showers ok. Convenient kitchen. Basic lounge area. Amenities closed between 10am and 1pm for cleaning with no other toilet available 😱.
Lady not very friendly.
Camping area ok but grass area soaking wet when raining.
