We spent three weeks traveling around Australia and New Zealand with our two sons aged 7 and 5.
We were lucky enough to experience many activities during our holiday including a helicopter safari, but without exception this was by far the best day that we had. The whole day from start to finish was fantastic. 5 hours flew by and the children never had a second to be bored. Haley was our raft guide and Mark our driver. Both were great fun and went out of their way to make our day special from the moment we stepped into the bus. The trip to the start point along the thrilling gorge road was full of fun filled facts from Haley who whose warmth and enthusiasm was infectious. The rafting along Grade I/ II rapids was perfect for families and a real family bonding trip.There were so many surprises to the trip and I could write pages about how wonderful the day was but I strongly recommend that, if you have young children and you are looking for an experience to remember, you should try Family Adventures for yourself. You won't regret it.

A fabulous rafting trip for first timers, young & old.
The guides were brilliant & really looked after us. The drive in via Skippers Canyon Rd was awesome & it was a real highlight of our trip.

We chose this rafting trip because we were there with our 7 year old.
It was very informative and the tour guides were great. They made it a day to remember and we still talk about our day with them even after 5 months.
The only time we were in the water is when we jumped in ourselves so we could practice pulling each other back into the boat in case we needed to in an emergency...

This was a great adventure for our family.
Three boys aged 9, 7 and 6 with mum and dad had a wonderful time. Our guides were fun and patient with us all and made sure were comfortable, safe and having a good time. Grade two rapids were challenging enough to make it interesting but not feel we were in any danger. There was lots to see and learn about the historic gold mining in area plus see part of the setting for the Lord of the Rings. It's still October so the water was pretty cold - but we still had a great swim and warmed up pretty quick with the good gear supplied. Big thanks to our guides for a great day out!

If you care for the safety of your family - STAY AWAY!!!!
This was an extremely easy rafting trip and great for beginners. Unfortunately, the river guides felt jeopardizing guest safety was amusing and enjoyable. I would urge anyone to pick one of the many other rafting options in Queenstown.
The website warns you that you will get wet during the trip. It is not from wild river rapids but instead from the river guides literally pushing people out of the boat, unannounced, into the cold river. I watched in horror as our guide suddenly, and without warning, pushed two adults and their two small children out of the boat. As he approached me and my friend, a jet boat was approaching so he had to quickly get everyone back into the boat. My friend, who is not the best swimmer and rather scared of water, was brave enough to take a rafting trip but will unfortunately never raft again after this experience.
As the young children and their parents were pulled back into the boat, they were confused and had difficulty breathing after swallowing river water. Who in the right mind would start pushing children out of a moving raft into a fast moving river? We spent the remainder of the trip in a state of shock after witnessing such a horror.
Maybe this was a onetime situation and the act of a crazy river guide. I will personally never place the safety of myself or the safety of loved ones, in the hands of this company again.
