Lovely stay this Christmas at camp ground.

Great managers John and Miki they are so accommodating. This year was a bit of a problem with people and sand blocking the drains and toilets but everything was fixed in a timely manner and professionly. The campground is presented really well and friendly people

    Enjoyed my stay.

Very small town, but a beautiful spot. Host very accomodating. Permanent residents are also awesome. unpowered site for $15 and how great are some that are hedged off!! Also great facilities especially the nice hot shower. Also had fish n chips at the Herbertville Inn. Reasonable prices and fast service.

One of those little communities that is embroiled with hills and sand.

On entry you cross a one way bridge typically kiwiana then suddenly a pub to the right which offers good pub food, ice cream and chips for the kids.

Directly across the the you'll find the herbertsville campgrounds which comes with the idyllic look of a camp that is embedded in my mind as a child.

To the right you'll find the camp office whose hospitality is 100% thankful for the local information you need including ice for fish and to cool down the refreshing drinks that we all need on a hot summers day, beware of the mosquito's on dusk so bring the repellents, itll make it a little more pleasant.

As you drive through the camp you'll see permanent dwellings that have been designed to the owner's desire, say " hello" as you go past there's always a friendly smile.

Once driven past the locals, to right the you'll find a fully functional kitchen that has everything you need.

Just past that is the toilet facilities and showers which cost a 2 dollar coin for 10 minutes and yes, they're Hot.

Drive a little further then find a place to camp, huge amount of land and a place to let your mind wonder.

Ask for directions to the beach and remember to have a 4wd because its a long walk. You can walk to the beach but its a hot walk.

    Try it to believe it!

Eclectic motor camp with mix of long, medium permanent residents.

    Some sites are privately owned.

Camping and RV / caravan sites.

    One toilet and kitchen block.

Very average cleanliness of abolition block.

Some way from beach - you need to drive.

    Surf beach

    Scenery and beach walks fantastic.

Check out local pub full of locals iconic with good cold beer.

Nice friendly owners, clean showers for an extra 50c and kitchen was clean and had everything needed.

Little further from the beach than we had expected, however a gorgeous beach.

Good friendly old fashioned pub across the road. Thanks

Very good in an old school sort of way.

Good clean facilities and some extraordinary home made batch living. Friendly & good value. Can be very windy but a number of well sheltered spots. Great food at the Tavern across the road.

    An old school kiwi campground.

Facilities old but clean. Beach is amazing but a long walk to get to it and the sea is a bit scary. Great for fisher folk with boats. Can recommend the local pub with its Dutch menu and home grown veges.
