Friendly place.
Only $8 for a space on grass to set up small tent and use of toilet key. Picnic table to use which is handy to set up small gas cooker on. Only suitable for camping in fine weather as no cooking shelter, although I guess most people buy at cafe. Ear plugs recommended at night due to noisy trucks on main highway. Sheltered from wind. A very pleasant place and a great place for an early start next day heading to Pirongia forest for tramping.

When we arrived the office was closed but the owner was there and greeted us right away.
He explained everything to us and gave us the keys for the toilet without any official registration or deposit. He stayed on the premises throughout the evening and was available to answer any further questions. The toilets and shower were clean and tidy. We were charged 8 NZD per person per shower. We were very satisfied and would come back anytime.

Really friendly people at this site and very clean facilities we unfortunately couldn't make it back in time to spend the night as we did a lot of the waitomo caves and bushwalks in the surrounding area
and over exerted ourselves but Id advise checking in early to receive a receipt

Great little spot for the night.
For a non self contained camper, we managed just fine with our own gas burner. There was drinking water available.
We arrived after the cafe had closed and spoke to Alan and he said we can pay in the morning.
He gave us a key to the toilets which we simply return on our departure.

Good for a night’s stay, we paid $8 each and another $8 for a shower so a bit steep if you want a shower.
It was busy and a little crowded while we were there. The manager is a nice guy and there is a supermarket and other village amenities close by.

Really great place !
It was quiet and clean. We paid at the coffee 6,50$ per personne for the night. Be careful, the coffee close around 5pm, if you arrive later, no worries someone keeps the park. During the day toilets in the park are closed but some public toilets are available around 300m from the car park and for the evening the guardian give you keys to access to toilets. He is really kind and can help you if you have any questions.

Great little spot, Allen the custodian is very kind and friendly, $6.50pn and hot, unlimited showers for another $6.50.
Right next to the redoubt, so it was nice to see a bit of Aotearoa history. I would also highly recommend the hikes around Mount Pirongia which is only a 15min drive away.

This place is basically a carpark next to a café, but it's pretty nice.
You pay $5 per person (Either in a café, or later on to the owner Allan. He'll come and check eventually.). For showers you pay $6 extra. There is a free wifi and you can get to Waitomo caves within 30 minutes, which is great. :)

Good location near the main road to Waitomo caves.
Affordable price for $5 per person (12 years and older). We got a discount for our 12 year old son. They have cold showers and powered sites for additional fee.

For $5/night, it's just fine.
Toilets, picnic tables, close to stores and cafes. They allow tent campers, there's a small grassy area to pitch your tent! Also, excellent wifi at the Persimmon Tree Cafe next door.

The place is just a small parking zone next to a coffee shop, it looks like nothing but it's very convenient.
You can arrive at any time and you pay the next day. Awesome showers for 5 dollars, you need to ask for the key.
