    Great quiet little campsite.

The owner Ralph was very kind and allowed us to stay in his campervan as we only had tents with us and the temperatures were very low.

Good facilities and some food can be ordered at the site.

Very affordable place, many facilities (hot shower, kitchen facilities) and all very clean.

Nice guy welcoming us and we tried the homemade pizza, which is indeed very good. There are some permanent campers who like to chat, but we didn’t mind them too much.

After a long day coming from the Catlins we came across this beautiful small riverside camping ground.

Close to the scenic Clutha River mouth, opposite the boat ramp, a great spot for trout fishing, canoeing.

Clean, well-kept roomy facilities, kitchen with dishes and cutlery, covered outside sitting area in a beautiful garden setting. Free hot showers!

We paddled upstream from the camp in our inflatable and caught a trout and a perch. The river mouth produced some Kawahai at low tide.

We paid 15$ a head unpowered site. Powered site is 19$ a head.

    Washing machine is 3$.

Ralph is a German chef and cooks delicious pizzas starting from 15$.

The riverside caravan park is on the right side when you drive into Kaitangata. Just before on the left there is another caravan park.

Small place with friendly owner and really good showers.

Paid $12 pP for an unpowered site.

Showers were hot, clean and unlimited.

Wifi was available for free, too.

Small kitchen included a microwave and some pots and pans to use.

Had no complaints and would recommend.

    Try the on-site pizza offers!

Very basic, don't expect four star luxury.

Mostly looks like permanent residents there in old caravans and small holiday huts; but the showers had plenty of hot water, the electric hook-up worked - good for an overnight or exploring the area.
