Very nice campground a bit off the main road but it's worth to go there.
Only open during summer months due to the weather.
Run by a very kind woman. Facility is a bit old but very clean.
Warm and friendly people all around. It's very calm and price is very reasonable!
Been there for one night at almost the end of the season.

Probably the best camping experience I have ever had, everything was pristine, and the owner was extremely kind and even made Us a cup of coffee in the morning.

Beautiful spot right across the road from the beach.
The camp mother Rosalie showed us so much kindness and was very hospitable. All facilities (kitchen, showers, toilets) were excellent and clean. Highly recommend and once again huge shoutout to Rosalie the absolute legend!

Peaceful, friendly campground run by a kind woman who keeps everything super clean and full of lovely touches.
Cute decorations, shared veggies and herbs, tons of preloved books, all was appreciated by our family. The campground is not free as was indicated at the time by Rankers, but it was very reasonably priced given the facilities available - would recommend.

Charming camp site!
It's easy to find, you just have to drive the Rangitata Huts Road to the end. Then to the camping ground. At some point there is a place where many campers stand, the office is signposted there. We were greeted so warmly by the camp mum. She is a gold piece. We were allowed to take herbs from the garden to cook. The kitchen is perfectly equipped. Shower ($2 for hot) and toilets are in perfect order and decorated with fresh flowers. Really nice. The place is in private hands. Who expects a Top10 Park is wrong there. It is rustic and you get in contact with the permanent campers 😍 we thank Shorty again for the fresh fish ❤ we were immediately part of a campsite family 😍 the sea is once over the small access road. Do not swim! There is always a shark seen. And thanks again for the scons at 12 o'clock. That was such a funny round. Thank you for welcoming us so openly ❤

Loved our stay at this secluded spot on the beautiful east coast.
We paid $20 for a non-powered site. Clean toilets, showers and kitchen. The new owner is absolutely lovely and made us feel so at home on our first night in NZ.
