super quiet and relaxed place.
Very environmentally friendly. Owners are the fewest friendly hosts we have met in three months NZ

This was one of the most special, lovely, unexpected, great, unusual, tranquil, scenic, natural, etc.
... places we stayed during our 3 months in NZ. It all starts with the gong to announce your arrival over the river followed by a scenic cable car journey to the other river bank and being welcomed by the hearty hosts, Kelly and Jane. They run the place since just over a year and have refurbished and turned it into a really precious spot. You mustn't expect state of the art amenities - but what would that be against the hot shower and woodfire-heated bath tub right in the bush?!? Or the avocado orchard? Or the deer coming close to your tent (or accommodation) in the night. We only can recommend staying here!

Can I rate this a 20?
I will most definitely be coming back to this place. A world away from the stresses of life, yet so close. The hosts are friendly, there when you need them, but also give you the privacy you seek. We came here with friends from Australia. They didn't quite believe me when I told them there were no banking facilities up the river. But after an evening at the Flying Fox, I don't think they wanted to leave. My husband and I will absolutely be coming back to spend a weekend here again.
