The location is pretty and the staff were nice.
But it is way too expensive for what it is. It is clean but the amenities are very very old and it is not very cosy.

Awesome campground.
Relaxed old school camping. Friendly helpful owners - go out of their way to help. Family vibe. Scenic and quiet. Good walking and biking trails to hand. Simple facilities - everything you need and very clean. 5mins to whanganui.

Amazing place.
Tranquil. Right next to the lake. Everything is clean and looked after. No traffic noise just bird song and lapping waves on the lake. Great walk through the forest if you need some exercise either on foot or by mountain bike. Definitely will return

Peaceful and so full of character.
We did a one nighter in an RV. Our hosts went above and beyond for us during a rare power outage. They got us back in business so quickly and offered use of their personal dryer when our laundry was cut short. Genuine, warm people who care so much about the area.
Land: pristine lake views on what used to be Scouting grounds.
Toilets and showers: roomy, and very clean.
Laundry: everything you need.
Cabins: clean, cosy, and welcoming.
Pitch sites: level and dry with easy access to water and power.
Be sure to take a tour of the grounds and hang out in the communal areas.
Thank you for a perfect stay.

Really amazing place next to a lake where you can swim & boat.
Best part of the camp are the owners who go out of there way to make sure you are enjoying yourself. Plenty of room for parking the caravan & put the awning out. 5 minute drive to Wanganui

Fantastic spot to stay at.
Spotless kitchens and bathrooms, good hot showers, spacious, green and right by the lake. Decent cell phone coverage, more than enough to take some calls. Genuinely faultless, we’d 100% stay again. Highly recommended!

Beautiful spot on edge of wildlife-filled lake.
Very friendly welcome from owners, keen to help us have a great time. Running the place for 6 months now, suspect this place will get better and better. Large campsite interesting to walk around and canoe/lifejackets available to use for free. $25nz for 2 with a campervan pretty standard price. Only minor downside is an aging toilet / shower block but clean and functional. Would recommend.
