Great spot.
Power shower and level parking. Showers are hot and relaxing toilets are cleaned daily. Pick up the keys from the Caltex and your set. Some great little second hand shops to browse through in the Main Street as well.
Excellent little cafe called the “Wind Farm Cafe” in the Main Street for brekky really good kiwi brekky for $18. Would certainly go back again if I ever find myself here again.

I struggle with cheap skates that would moan if something cost a dollar, you don’t deserve to camp in New Zealand if you can’t open your wallet, you’ll die the richest moaner in the cemetery.
Having got that off my chest.
A great place, 2019 and still $10 pp for a power site with toilet and hot showers available.
You MUST go to the Caltex petrol station first and get it sorted, then it’s a breeze and a great place to stop over.
Moaners not needed or wanted, be positive and appreciative of our beautiful country, not destructive.

27Sept18.
Went to Caltex as described on detail and on board at site. They said it was closed and that the showers and loos were to be rebuilt. However they said as we are self contained we should just go there and stay.
There are 5 concrete pitches with power poles (padlocked). The loos and showers were still there but locked. There is a recycling area adjacent. Quiet.
Nothing special but with power and facilities would be a good site worth the money.

We were expecting a bit more from all the positive reviews.
Certainly for the price, it’s great facilities but not the best value we’ve seen and the location isn’t anything special. you are right next to the neighbourhood recycling station and we had people constantly stopping by dumping stuff. Great playground nearby though.

This is a camping ground from the city council which is cheap and good.
This camping ground is not directly at the Fountain square but on the lefthand side of the street when you come from the main road. Price is 10NZD for a powered campsite per person and 5NZD for a non-powered campsite. 5 campsites available. On the camping ground are good toilets and a very good and hot shower. Dump station and fresh water provided. Beside the camping ground is a recycling station so you can get rid of your waste. Check-in for the camping ground is at the CALTEX fuel station at the main road where you pay and get the key to the facilities.

Probably the best value for money campsite on the entire North Island!
Site is just off the main road on a nice green pitch. Large park with children playground and plenty of benches 1 minute walk away. Walking up to the high street where you can buy some groceries in the local supermarket is a 2 min walk. The site offers a hot shower cabin, toilet, exterior sink with electric plugs and that for only 5 dollars! To our astonishment the facilities were super clean and there was plenty of hot water! One could only wish there were more of such sites around NZ. Great thanks to the Woodville people and council for their hospitality and efforts made to provide such a great place!

Really nice park, you go to the Petrol station down the road to pay and get the keys.
The keys are one for the toilet/shower and another for the locker of power outlet. There is only one toilet and one shower available but it was enough the first time we were there (only us and another car) and the second was well (5 cars). There is also a sink with water,a dump station and a table! Cost 10$ p.p. powered and 5$ without (January 2015)
