Tegan at reception was so lovely and helpful!

Powered site for one night and 2x people was $38 which was fair. The bathroom and showers were very clean and SO warm in the winter! A cute cafe inside that was neat and tidy and a recreation room as well. 9/10 because they're not certified for a dumping station which was needed. Otherwise close to town and all others kept to themselves. No trouble at all. I would recommend and stay again!

This place is OK for a night or two, close to the centre of Rotorua (15-20min walk).

The facilities are good but in need of cosmetic updating. The camping sites are in a completely shaded area so don't get any sun which can make it a bit colder than usual. Wifi is $5 a day per device though we didn't try it. Staff were nice.

Great little backpacker hub, with a hot pool and a nicely equipped kitchen.

Trees make it feel more secluded than it actually is. 15 minute walk from the museum and downtown. Nice showers, and good discount rates if you book with the front desk for any of the local tourist activities.

It is a very nice place to stay, it is cheap but with a lot of services.

We booked a tent site but when we arrived they told us that there was no tent sites available instead they gave us a lodge room but charged it as tent site. The staff are super kind and keen to help you at any time.

Fir the camping Nz staff you should change the name of the place at the map because its name is The Backyard Inn.

    The facilities were nice.

There is a large kitchen, a bar, hot spring pool, and warm showers. The campsite was a muddy grassy area and lacked personality. We stayed at places with better campsites. The facilities make it a pretty decent place, though.

    Don't be fooled.

The guests staying at the hotel use the camp sites as parking stalls which is basically what they are. The "hot" showers are luke warm at the best of times but alternates to freezing cold every two minutes. It was $20 for the worst nights sleep I've had in NZ, not to mention I'm one person in a non powered site.. beyond expensive. The only saving grace were the facilities. It was nice to have an onsite bar/restaurant and the food was decent and reasonably priced.

For the price of $12 per person in a tent, it's pretty much as cheap as it gets while still having facilities like hot shower, kitchen and hangout room (laundry and driers at $2 each, but didn't use it

). And hot pools! Not the cleanest, but nice for a relaxing bath in the evening. The place feels a bit shabby, not so much atmosphere and the kitchen is pretty basic, no baking oven, but plenty of heaters and microwaves. Close to the city and a stones throw away from a lot of cool thermal activity. Didn't visit the bar, but it looks pretty nice and cheap. Would recommend if you are travelling in a group, but maybe not the best place to meet people if you are travelling alone.

This is our 4th time staying at KiwiPaka.

We stayed with 2 adults and 3 of our children and had a dormitory room. All facilities are in excellent condition, well maintained and clean. The dinner was excellent at $12 for crumbed fresh fish (not pre-frozen) with a good salad and chips and $7.50 for five small hot dogs and chips for the kids. At $5 for a beer at the bar, you can afford to have a few drinks too and shout the odd round :) . The breakfast was extremely good value too at $30 cooked for all five of us. The staff could not be nicer and the large hotpool is superclean and open until 12.00 midnight which is perfect for winding down late in the evening. I have been working as a tourguide and operate a qualmark endorsed tourism business in NZ. KiwiPaka is most definitely our most preferred accommodation in Rotorua and we highly recommend it to any visitors. Thank You KiwiPaka Team, You Rock !!!!

Only place they said they could have us was in the car park but still 40 dollars a night, very cramped and staff not very helpful or welcoming.

    Choose to stay somewhere else.

Bathrooms and kitchen fine. Not as great value for money as our previous stay.

    Close to the city centre.

Campsite is at the back and not well kept. We had a very rainy night and a bit of water doesn't scare us. But there were big puddles all around the campervan and to add to the fun were the bathroom facilities flooded aswell. The water in there was about ankle deep. The facilities itself were mostly clean, but it all looked a bit old.

Nice place but $20 pp is way to expensive to park your car.

Even with all the facilities you can use.
