This is a great park with a beautiful location and Michael made us feel welcome from the start.
We got the far corner lot with a view of the falls and shade from the tree. The showers were hot and grounds very tidy. Conveniently located to Paihia and the Bay of Islands. We booked a fishing charter with Paul at Get Reel Fishing Charters. He worked really hard for us and we came away with several Red Snapper and a 30lb King. We took the fish to King Wah Chinese Restaurant and they made us dishes of shashimi, deep fried, sweet and sour, and broiled. It was amazing and we were stuffed.
Michael warned us those corner lots may have an odor at times and he was correct. He offered for us to move but we enjoyed the view by the water.

Awesome campground and great value for the price in my opinion!
Bathroom, laundry facilities, and kitchen were all very clean. Only a few other campers on a weekday when I was there. Spots 23-30 or so are closest to the water and the best sites! New owners since Dec 2022 and Michael was great. Definitely take advantage of the kayaks!

The four points are only because of the beautiful view of the falls.
Grass needs cutting, ablution blocks are tired and seriously minimal. No water hookups for campers. You are paying top dollar for a three star campground. Sadly disappointing, it has so much potential if someone cared about the camping part of the resort. Clearly they focus on the hotel.

Hi Dee & Colin, we value reviews from our customers and were very sad to hear you were disappointed. Our waterfront campground has been operating since the 1950s, and we're currently upgrading the ablution block & kitchen to have a new art-theme with a gazebo & BBQ area. Water filling stations, laundry & a campervan waste station are available. We also have kayaks, fishing from our wharf, picnic tables, a BBQ hula hut, an adventure playground, trampoline and a swimming pool available for campers. We hope your next experience with us is better and wish you happy travels.

Beautiful campground with waterfront beach.
Children loved the adventure playground & trampoline. Free kayaks for guests so we paddled out to the waterfall. Also has free use of the swimming pool. Campsite has a small amenities block which is being renovated, and was perfectly adequate. Highly recommended for a visit.

Place as described on their website.
We had a waterfront spot facing straight to the waterfall. Cozy BBQ shelter a tiny playground for the little ones, trampoline, basketball net. Good size powered sites. The toilets/showers are a bit aged but nice and clean. The kitchen is well equipped for washing the dishes, kettle, toaster. Free access to the hotel’s pool. Kayaks for rent, you can paddle out the Waitingi bridge, easy. The Waitangi grounds are just half an hour by bike, and also a mountain bike park is there. Very relaxed spot, just a bit more than walking distance to Paihia town center tho. $70 per night for 2 adults and 2 youths is on the upper end, but that’s OK. Highly recommended, super friendly staff!

Every once in a while you take a chance on a place.
This one does not disappoint in any way. Great facilities, great hosts, Peter and his wife in reception and Mike on the site were an absolute dream team. Helpful but not over-bearing, know the area very well, the site is only 30 plots, but by golly, we could have stayed here for 2 weeks, it's that good.
Kitchen and showers were perfectly maintained, the site has great views and best of all, the whole experience of parking our van from the first minute to the last, was relaxed, friendly and helpful.

All staff super friendly and helpful. Unlimited wifi. Toilets and showers were clean. Warning: shower temperature changes quickly depending on water use. Laundry available on site for $4/wash.
