Wonderful way to see the Sound away from the crowds.
We took the coach from Te Anau and the driver was brilliant and informative. The cruise was stunning, though we were lucky with the weather conditions which made it worth the experience. Risks being dominated by large tour groups - as an individual couple we were overlooked - eg no place allocated at dinner.

We got to see dolphins and seals. The food was great and we got so go up and down the sound several times. My husband went kayaking and liked that experience as well.

Great alternative for my husband and I when we were told the avalanche risk was too high to hike the Milford Track.
We got to see seals, penguins and AWESOME waterfalls!

We were lucky - we got a good deal and a 4 berth cabin to the 2 of us.
Only 19 on board instead of 60!

Very disappointed with Real Journeys company.
Had booked on overnight cruise 3 mths prior to holiday in NZ. Had to re-confirm overnight cruise 48 hrs prior, went into office in Queenstown to be told boat was broken and had been for a week! Obviously a broken boat is out of their control, however we were told the boat had been broken for a week and were not told as soon as they were aware (which would have been handy as we were travelling with 2 small children and needed to then find alternate accommodation as we could not stay on boat). When I asked when we were going to be told, they said they had emailed me that day. We were given a refund but lost money on accommodation we had booked on subsequent days as we had to stay in region longer to take day time cruise of Milford with another company. Interesting to note the website was still advertising the overnight cruises as being available on the day we were originally booked on Milford Mariner, when the boat was in fact still broken (I asked at several Real Journey offices in Queenstown and Te Anau).

You can't fail to have high expectations of Milford Sound, and ours were exceeded.
Real Journeys laid on a very well organized overnight trip with really friendly and knowledgeable staff. We had already done their Doubtful Sound day trip - thoroughly recommended - and went on the Te Anau glowworm caves trip after Milford Sound. All 3 trips were of the highest standard.

Less than we expected it to be.
Service was good though, as was dinner and breakfast on board. We were disappointed by the fact that there was not much information given about the fjord during the afternoon/evening (in the morning there was) and that we didn't get to see any dolphins.

With much lick you have a gorgeous red sunset and after a nights rain all the water coming down from everywhere.

We were a group of four and had a great time on the Wanderer.
The accomodation was quad bunk style so that suited our needs and budget as the other boat the Marnier is 3 times the price of this boat, and you see the same scenery from both boats. The staff were very friendly and informative and joked around with us making us feel very welcome. I would reccommend this trip to anyone who comes to the sound it is great value and the scenery is breathtaking.
