Information

Medlands Beach Campsite

This campsite is set back from Medlands Beach amongst mature trees. The estuary is safe for swimming and the beach is popular for surfing.

This is a very sheltered campsite that overlooks a tidal stream. The estuary is a great place for a family swimming session and the beach is very popular for surfing. Medlands Beach Camping Ground is surrounded by farmland and holiday homes.

Great Barrier Island free of rats, mustalids, hedgehogs and possums, but has ship rats and mice. Argentine ants are also not welcome - please check your gear, boats, kayaks for these pests and destroy any ants you find. Kauri dieback disease is present. Keep to the defined tracks, clean your footwear before and after visiting kauri forest areas, and stay away from kauri tree roots.

Wonderful place, close to the beach, green and quite free of wind, close to nature walks, far away from stores but the locals will give you a lift!!
