Doubtful Sound Overnight Cruises
Escape to the peace and tranquillity of Doubtful Sound on a magical overnight cruise
Your getaway starts in Manapouri with a short cruise across Lake Manapouri. Then coach across Wilmot Pass on a sub-alpine road through dense rainforest to Deep Cove where your crew and the Fiordland Navigator await.
Designed along the lines of a traditional scow, the Fiordland Navigator blends old world charm with modern comforts that include spacious viewing decks, a dining saloon/fully licensed bar and an observation lounge.
As you cruise through some of the fiord’s most stunning scenery, our knowledgeable nature guides will provide commentary ensuring you miss nothing, be it the pod of resident dolphins, fur seals or rare penguins you might encounter.
After dropping anchor in a sheltered cove, you can choose to explore the shoreline by kayak or tender boat or to simply relax onboard. For the more adventurous (or very brave), there’s even a chance to go swimming!
In the evening, enjoy a delicious three course buffet dinner prepared by our onboard chef and served in the dining saloon. Mingle with fellow travellers, savour some of the fine wines at our licensed bar and if the skies are clear in the evening, spend some time on the upper deck gazing at the stars.
Kick off the next day with a hearty cooked breakfast and spend the rest of the morning exploring other parts of the fiord. You then return to Deep Cove for the trip back to Manapouri.

This was our bit of luxury, money wise, even though we shared a quad bunk - worked out fine (with a German couple).
All transport was fine, boat had plenty of space (except some reserved booths!). Information as going was good. Food great. Very relaxing - good weather helped. Staff friendly. Activities OK. Saw lots of dolphins and seals which helped. Found a good couple to pal up with.

Lovely staff, great food (heaps of it), clean facilities. Very informative guide. Amazing trip even though the weather not the best.

Great staff and fantastic scenery.
The cruise is noisy with not much sleep with generators and a 6am wake up to make the next days schedule, meaning we didnt really get to appreciate the private room. This is a professional organisation but it is hard to avoid the feeling that you are part of a production line. Next time I would probably try a day trip with Real journeys or for a more personal feel one of the smaller companies.

Really friendly and professionally, sensibly run.

To see the best in a country, you need to get out of the crowds !
Doubtful Sounds Overnight cruise is the experience to do if you really wanna experience the remoteness of the Fjords !
The fact that you'll only see 1 or 2 other boats during the trip adds a lot to it as you can really appreciate the silence and beauty of the area !
The boat staff is great as well and the boat is really comfortable. The staff really knowledgeable and always happy to answer your questions ;-)
If you have the budget : It's a must do !

A great trip.
Very nice crew, excellent food. Don't miss to go kayaking. If you are lucky, dolphins will swim next to your kayak. Just feel the unique environment.

beautiful scenery, delicious food, knowledgeable staff, comfortable rooms and a wonderful atmosphere on the fjordland navigator. This trip was pretty amazing and definitely worth its money!!!

Great cruise, nice overview of the Fiords.
The night on the water is not really peaceful. The engine for the generator is running all night and is really noisey. Wake-up at 7am was hard after a short night. Nice food and friendly staff.

All arrangement was absolutley superb and very enjoyable.
