    A spectacular view!

I was there when the wind was howling, the rain was dumping, and the falls were roaring! The loop was completely out of the question as even the road was like a stream. The Ranger was shocked when I walked in, but we had a nice chat and look around the facility. Don’t miss the power plant either. The steps down to the base of the falls are quite steep in places.

Although Mt Taranaki was shrouded in cloud, we headed for the hills and trekked through Dawson's Falls.

After a lot of rainfall, the water volume was huge and we got drenched by the spectacular spray.

Caught sight of these falls after the wettest November in a while so much more spectacular view than on a sunny day.

Very wet and muddy path however mainly due to weather.

Great little walk to the falls.

Very fun and worth it. If you start at the information centre then it only takes about an hour.
