Lovely original place.
Beautiful view. There were total of 6 campers while I was there and had a lovely time with the fire going in the common area.

Linda and her husband a very lovely welcoming people!
They gave me an heart warming welcome! Camp site looks like it was recently renovated. Kitchen, shower and toilets are in Block House style. Everything was tidy and clean! Highly recommended. One of the most beautiful Camping side I have been in NZ

Definitely pays to call ahead and book.
Not great to show up after dark, unannounced.
However if you do book in you'll get a warm welcome and the camp ground facilities have been recently upgraded.

Great experience with family.
Wasn’t the most luxury but it did the job for us staying on our roof tents.

Turned up late at night and the owner was more than happy to accommodate.
Just after a place to park my van for the night and a hot shower and this place was perfect for what I needed. A good safe place to stay when travelling alone.

Having stayed at The Staging post at least two times a year for the last three years, i felt i should leave a review.
The Cabins and the campsite are delightful and the location is perfect, especially if you want to stay within a beautiful drive to kaikoura and within a 15 minute drive to the lovely and hardly visited conway flats. The hosts are Fab and work exceptionally hard. Oh and dont forget the free swimming pool :)

We stayed in one of the cabins and didn't get anything that we expected.
We got put in a room that was attached to the kitchen and common room so were kept awake by noise from the fridges and the TV. There was mouse poo all over the bed when we got to the room, something which the owner considered to be normal. Mice running all through the kitchen. Generally the place had a dirty feel to it - smelly teatowels, dingy shower etc. Owner didn't make us feel welcome at all. Wouldn't recommend to anyone.

Nice owner, very lovely location.
BUT dirty, old facilities for campers. (Spiders everywhere in kitchen and toilets) Worst I've seen in NZ so far and the price for a tent site is way to expensive (18$ p.p. non powered)
