This was such a great spot.
I wish we could have stayed longer, and my kids definitely did too. The grassy area in the middle was great for the kids! They had so much fun. There were two trikes for the kids to ride in the grass, an old boat to pretend play on (complete with rope and cleats), a trampoline, and balls, bats and other small toys. The lounge had some building blocks and tons of kids books and games, as well as those for adults. The kitchen was the best stocked with pots, pans, utensils and dishes that we’ve seen. The two stoves were older, but totally functional. The bathrooms were clean and the showers hot and free! Location was great! Beach was a two minute walk and at low tide, you can walk to the Moreaki Boulders (30-40 mins one way with slow kids). There is a little river right outside the campground which my kids had fun playing in. Tavern is in walking distance (8 mins without kids) and did a great takeaway. The other campers we met there were some of the friendliest we’ve met during our time in New Zealand. The owner was also super welcoming and friendly. We’d love to come back here to stay. Oh and coin laundry - 3 $1 coins to wash and $2 coin for 25 minutes of drying. And one more note, the internet here was one of the best we’ve had at smaller holiday parks. ❤️

The view is a good spot, but the shower facilities and restaurant environment are poor, and the road from the highway is not good

What an absolute gem!
Great park with a fantastic host. 3 minute walk to the Fishwife for the absolute best in Blue Cod fish and chips and cray fish. The Moeraki Tavern across the street has an amazing staff, great pub food, and a nice selection of beer. If you want a great fishing charter for Blue Cod the Moeraki Fishing Charter is right at the wharf. Showers are hot, laundry facilities are good and kitchen was fully stocked.

Close to a beach and good location, but if you’re hoping to stay right next to the Moeraki boulders, this is not as close as I imagined!
However those boulders are a quick stop away. Food walkable, but their kitchen seemed to close a bit earlier than I would have liked.

Toilets and bathroom area need upgrading and cleaning: paint peeling off, spider webs and dust all over the ceiling, dead flies along the window seal.
Perfect location before or after watching the penguins: a couple of minutes from light house gravel road entrance.
Spent one night in May. $5 for wifi password.
Powered site on the front with sea view are quickly filled. There are many others at the back, but some on a gentle slope.
Paid $16 pp for a powered site.

Everything very good!
A wonderful short ride to the coast where we could see a big seal colony from very close. Two pinguins where there as well but difficult to spot as they where not too close to us.

Moeraki is our favourite place in NZ and this campsite did not disappoint.
Lovely powered pitch with views over the bay. Kitchen, showers, toilets and laundry all well equipped and well kept. Kids were delighted with the trampoline and climbing bars. The owners are absolutely lovely. Perfect location for Fleur’s Place, lighthouse, boulders etc. We stayed two nights but could have happily stayed for a week. (PS. Highly recommend The Fishwife shack - incredible!)
