We stayed one night at the Lake Benmore Holiday Park.
This place is incredibly popular and packed with campers for the holidays and it did feel a bit crowded. Since it was so full we did not score a site with the dedicated shower and toilet. The way the timer is set up for the showers could be improved. The shower is set to last only five minutes and there's a ten minute delay for the next user. I walked into a shower and got undressed only to discover that it had apparently just been used so I could only stand around and wait until the timer reset. IMO the community bathroom should ideally be about twice as big for the number of people it was accommodating. The park has most of the amenities you'd expect minus a dump station, but there is one not far up the road in town. Mary was a gracious and helpful hostess. The office has wifi if you need it but it does not extend to the whole park. Despite the number of campers the park had a very family-friendly feel to it. No one stayed up late and it was very quiet at night. The view of the stars late at night is amazing. In the morning we walked across the road and went for a stroll down the path along the lake. This park was a good alternative to the parks in Twizel that require a minimum stay of more than one night.
We did not notice any road noise at all from inside our van site which was well removed from the road. Perhaps some tent and van sites need to be swapped to give the tent campers relief.

Fantastic place with large sites for your campers/tents and really clean toilets with free hot showers.
You can have your own private en suite or a shared one. Across the road from the lake, barely any noise on the road (our spot is near the back of the camp though)

This is a great location to stay opposite the beautiful lake - nestled in between Otemetata and Omarama.
The facilities were fantastic with each site have a super cute and super clean toilet and shower cabin. Very clean and perfect for when you are on the road looking to refresh and rest or just enjoy the local area. The hosts were super friendly and knowledge and very helpful - going out of their way to make my stay enjoyable - great hosts! I totally recommend this holiday park so don't miss it when you are in the MacKenzie Country.

This is a lovely little site with super facilities (each pitch has it's own toilet and shower).
It is thoughly well managed by a cheerful and welcoming owner. Only downside is that it is not on the lake and no pitches have a view of the water. There is some road noise but to be frank it is not a busy road!! Strongly recommend a stay here.

Perfect spot after a long, hot day of hiking at Mt.
Cook. The individual bathroom cabins are the obvious highlight but even without them this place would be a gem: Sites are separated by bushes and trees for privacy, the laundry is good and there's a lot of space to air dry clothes, kitchen was clean and very well equipped. Overall a very cute layout. The only let down was the close proximity to the road but even that wasn't so bad.

This is definitely a nice place with a lovely owner.
Kitchen and lounge are well-equipped and the ensuite toilet and showers are clean and good enough. Paid 48 NZD for a family with 2 young kids. Unfortunately the site is next to the road and cars go really fast what makes especially nights in a tent not very comfy. This is the reason why I would not stay here any more. The lake is across the road but for a good spot for swimming you have to drive a little.

Although the camping place isn't quiet (and next to a street), you have a private toilet with shower cabin for each tent site and good facilities for cooking, TV, etc.
We had a problem with the management. There was no sign whatsoever which could tell you how long you could have a shower until it gets freezing cold (we were here in October). Therefore we stand wet and cold with shampoo in the hair in the cabin as the cold water period began. That was annoying. As we tried to give the management a hint to write at least the expected warm water time to the cabins, they told us we are the one to blame because that would be common sense.... we would have appreciated a better way of communication.

I'm sorry that you and your partner (see above comment by user) had a problem with management
Better and civilised communication works both ways but we have taken your comments on board
Regarding the camp not being quiet, we are next to a State Highway and not a street hence the little bit of road noise

This was really a nice campground.
Spacious sites with nice trees, a picnictable and a private bathroom on each site. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Kitchen facilities were available, rather basic, but clean. A good place to stay to visit glacier lakes and mount Cook.
