Paid 20$ for a non-powered site.
The camp is quiet and beautiful but the equipments are getting old : the common room is a non-heated container, the toilets floor is concrete. And we can't control the temp of the showers so it's either too little water or too hot water.

Brilliant campsite.
Great kitchen with cookware etc, very clean. Free hot showers. Great playground next door which is exceptionally well maintained. Whole campground surrounded by mature trees. We loved it - one of the best after a month on the road in North and South Island.

Best value for money site in New Zealand.
It's not a 5 star place but it's big clean site and has everything you need. For the price it's excellent.

Not impressed, you don't have control of the temp of the showers, plus they are unsealed concrete floors.
I paid $16 for one person for an unpowered site, and an extra $5 for 1g of WiFi. the wifi is horrible, it just keeps shutting off. Facilities are quite worn down...

Had a lovely time at the camp ground.
It was very busy over the new year period but the camp had a buzz to it as opposed to being overcrowded. On new years eve the young ones were kept busy by singing karaoke. The kids loved the playground. The only drawback was the shower water temperature which fluctuated a bit in peak times.

The Campground is expensive $32.
You get nothing for the money, except a large green rugby field (no tree or bushes around) with bright lights all night. Next to the ground is a train station, it's really loud. In the morning 8 a.m. there was a tractor which cut the grass, 1 meter next to us. We can't sleep. The facilities are old, the fridge was loud and not functional. Maybe a new one is better for the environment. The showers and toilets are not that clean. And they recommend hot showers only limited for 6 minutes. We didn't feel welcome. Wifi is paid extra for $7.
