Despite the previous comment we went there as we needed to be close to the airport.

The Lady at the desk was super friendly, kitchen and bathroom was clean and with everything equipped what needed. Overall I was confident there. Only the trains during the night were something negative. The people living there are also very friendly! And its only 15 min away from the airport

This isn't a holiday park but rather a permanent caravan residence with only two or three holidaying campers to be seen.

The kitchen and bathrooms are fine, but the staff are unwelcoming and rude. It claims to have WiFi but does not. Fine as a place to crash for one night only but the worst we have stayed in our NZ trip.

    Never again.

The owner let her dog pee on a tree in the middle of the nonpowerd area (besides that, dogs are not allowed here).

Booked a non-powered site for two nights.

Toilets are okay, fridge was full and had no light.

Only a few campers and the rest permanent residents (which does not have to be a bad thing!). Reception is not manned on Sundays. According to the sign, you might only dare to ring the bell if you want to book an accommodation. Receptionist was not welcoming and didn't even know the price for a site without asking. By the way, there is no map for this place either, making it difficult to find the site and the facilities.

Non-powered sites are right next to the railroad tracks and the cabins look directly onto the sites.

To get there you drive past the recycling containers onto a lawn that was probably once for children to play on and is now used to make more money from campers.

Only 250 mb free WiFi that cannot be received on the non-powered sites.

Yes, it's the cheapest site in the area, but you can feel it everywhere.

I really enjoyed staying here for the last 18 months.

My neighbours were friendly and Juanita, Bob and Carol are very nice people running the park. It is very handy to Hornby shops. The grounds are well maintained and it is an easy place to settle in. Thank you all for a pleasant place to park my tiny home✅💖👏

I was 1 of the perms that lived there.

I was very happy there. A couple of perms are no good, but most are awesome people that bacame very good friends, especially the owners. I think some people commenting on here are not genuine, just trying to make the park look bad. Its not tho, go + check it out

    This place is the WORST.

If you are looking for somewhere to stay the night, please go somewhere else. We paid $45/night for 2 people - Not even a concrete pad to park on. Had to park on muddy grass with no traction. Lady sold us a “space” that didn’t even exist. Extremely cramped and full of permanent residents.

    Certainly no Alpine Views.

Not a Holiday Park either. It’s a cheap place to live, which is fine, but it’s not where you’d choose to holiday. Nice enough for a night stopover & we weren’t really disturbed by trains or traffic. Convenient for the airport.

The website says the backpacker Lodge has a modern communal kitchen and separate gender facilities.

This is lies, the kitchen was disgusting, half of the appliances didn't work and everything you wanted to use needed sanitised first. The beds were dangerous, side railings falling off! And the whole place smelled. The motel unit wasn't much better, not sure what the stain was on the blanket. Fridge wasn't on, couldn't find the switch. Wanted to have a spa and there was no plug to fit and took Over 30 minutes to fill half way! Website does not do this place justice on a bad way. The lady in reception had no idea of she was Arthur or Martha and was little to no help

Not really what you would call a beautiful spot, but does the job if you just arrived in Christchurch or need to give back your RV the next day

The entrance looks clean, modern, tidy.

You can't see the camp itself until you go in. I should have checked it out first. Instead I paid and then drove in. The touring part was unattractive, hook ups that didn't look in good condition. Seemed mostly long term residents rather than touring. Had an 'atmosphere'. Didn't check the facilities. Right beside the train tracks.

This was our last night in NZ and I wanted something nicer, so we drove once round and out again - $45 thrown away.

Fine if you want a basic, low quality site; but then the price was more than many better sites in Christchurch area

We got a concrete pad to park on but that was about the end of the positives.

$45 and all we used was the concrete pad! Music all night, trucks and trains and a whole lot of perms

Sour woman at reception, the world owed her.

No free wi-fi. The rubbish skips were overflowing and full of roaches, an absolute disgrace. It is full of weirdo perms and looks like the main site out of Chainsaw massacre!

Right by the train tracks and they went half the night, we will never be going back there again, now I know what it’s like to live in the ghetto.

No discount on NZMCA $45 a night in Winter!

Large caravan site, clean facilities, a real problem with their rubbish, bottles, recycling facilities.

Over flowing. A lot of perms at the park.
