A really nice campsite with helpful and friendly managers.
Phoned up less than 5 minutes before their office closed at 6 and they happily booked us a non powered site for that night. Only $25 for a non powered site which I think is reasonable for unlimited hot showers, clean bathrooms, laundry facilities and a nice kitchen. It’s mainly permanent residents there with just a few temporary sites but you don’t notice this and it’s very quiet. Only a 20 min drive into Christchurch city centre.

This was our first stop in New Zealand after arriving in Christchurch and we were definitely impressed.
Unfortunately not all campsites were like this so it was one of our favourite during our trip. Great value in a nice town with good cooking and shower facilities

$25 for 2 people, which is pretty reasonable.
Kitchen and shower facilities were very basic, but seemed the best campground option in the area for price and proximity to the city centre.

Absolute bargain this place is very modern and clean, free hot showers. It has a retirement village feel to it as the whole site has permanent residents by the looks who live in very nice homes. Definitely worth a stay

Plus: Perfect facilities, very friendly staff.
We paid 35NZD for 2 adults and a 2 year old on a powered camper site. There is a golf course next to the camp site if you want to improve your swing.
Minus: the name riverside is a bit misleading since the camp site and the river are a 10m walk apart.
To conclude: great spot to start your trip!

Great campsite for a non powered van!
We stayed here on the first night of our trip and then came back for the last two so we could play some golf at the course ($5 for rentals and 9 holes). Bathrooms were very clean and kitchen facilities were great too! We got charged $25 a night for two people in a non powered site. Very reasonably priced.

Great value for being right outside of Christchurch.
Free hot showers with unlimited water! We were arriving late at night and they accommodated us with a late check in. The directions they gave us were very clear. One minor complaint is the space’s numbers can be hard to see late at night.

Were coming from kaikoura and weren’t going to arrive till 8.
Called ahead and they said we could pay in the morning and they’d leave a pass for us. Paid $25 for 2 unpowered. Had plenty of toilets and showers (free hot water). Also has kitchen facilities and dump station. Campsite was quite spacious also. Would expect to pay $40+. Very good value

What a little gem!
First come first served basis, staff are really very helpful and welcoming. The facilities are incredibly clean and actually smell great! Plenty of hot showers and toilets, fully equipped kitchen, laundry and tv room all well maintained. A nice river walk with a public access pathway through local dairy farms. A little playground if you have the chiln too! A very short drive into town and just a fantastic location in general. At only $15 for myself and the van each night it is cheap as chips for a peaceful and safe place to stay. Most other holiday camps charge double that for less & you get over crowding as a bonus...hmmm.
