Friendly people and a very good recreation hall and kitchen.

Everything was clean, sanitation and showers also good and clean.

Small Terrain for tents, gras and not rocky.

Large comfortable lounge area with sofas well equipped kitchen with cutlery, crockery, pots n pans, ovens, toasters, microwave and rice cooker!

    Dining area as well.

Clean showers and toilets housed within motel block so no issues with weather.

Powered sites are rather basic more like a carpark.

    No complaints here.

Very clean modern facilities. I was able to park my van next to a grassy strip. No sandflies either.

We met great people here in the shared kitchen, but otherwise wish we hadn’t stopped in Haast.

This was our initial introduction to sandflies, and it was pretty bad. There was a friendly mouse who scampered through the kitchen, but otherwise facilities were clean, just very basic. Another camper held up the shower for a good 15+ minutes with a queue forming and didn’t seemed bothered one bit. Bummer for rude campers.

    Clean facilities.

Wasn’t that keen to go past all the rooms for rent to the bathroom in the night from camper. But nice anyway.

    Really nice camping!

I absolutely don’t understand why that place doesn’t a better note, because it’s really nice! The kitchen is super clean and have all the gear you would need. The commun area is huge with a lot of place to chill. There is bathroom and showers for men and women separate, and they seems brand new! They is some site that are small, but there is other with grass spot and picnic table. We were there on a rainy day with our baby and it was perfect! Staff is super friendly! I highly recommend, a lot more that the next one with the super grumpy owner

This place is a good spot to stop between Wanaka and the Westcoast.

It's not romantic but functional. Nothing wrong with it. It's been 21 $ for a powered site and one person. Facilities very clean, showers don't cost extra (5 min for free).

My husband and I stayed here for one night in late June and we were pleasantly surprised how nice this facility was after reading earlier reviews.

The woman at reception was kind and friendly. It was $36 for the two of us to tent camping and we were the only ones this time of year so we had our choice of tent spot. We chose one of the grassy locations as many spots were gravel, which is not as nice. The kitchen was great, clean and had everything we needed. The lounge was also nice, and we were able to make a cozy fire in the woodstove to warm up before our cold tent. They had a good book exchange collection as well.

    20Oct18.

2 in motorhome powered site $40.80 inc 80c fee for credit card.

Nice lady on reception. Compact site, no frills. Slight slope on the main area.

Pay WiFi. Quite slow as via satellite.

Didn’t use the kitchen or lounge but they looked good.

Loos and showers ok. No lock on one male loo cubicle door. No hair dryer.

    Small area for tents.

    Ok for stopover.

Nice owner how helped us out when we had a little incident with our vehicle.

Campsite is more like a parking lot but it has a big common room with a fire place, books and a well equipped kitchen. Half of the toilets and showers were closed due to maintenance but for winter time it were enough. Beware that there is no cell phone connection or wifi within 200 km up the coast.

It's just a parking spot in front of the hostel so quite expensive for that and the shower costs extra money.

The woman at the counter told me that they only had powered spaces-no tent or uncharged.

Base rate of $20. I am not a fan of anywhere charging a person in an unpowered van for a powered site, or charging a single person for two so there is always points deducted for that. It was storming and the options were slim though so I went with it. Basically you just park in a shared lot, no walls or even vegetation really so no privacy. Communal facilities included a kitchen (which had ovens too) and open area with tv and fireplace. Considering that it is a converted warehouse you really need that fireplace. Quite chilly and i had to get my coat on to relax indoors. The showers are on these 5min timers where they wont immediately reset with hot water when you hit the button (there is some lag time). I hate these types of showers as it usually takes me 7-8min to wash so putting me on a timer system does not help. Either charge me for the time or don't. So i took my towel and went over to the next shower stall, using two showers just to get my hair rinsed. A place to stay in Haast but nothing special.

We stopped here for a little romantic stop on our camping trip to avoid the rain.

We found that 70$ for a twin bedroom was extremely expensive! The showers were old, the room was basic (2 twin beds, nothing else in the room!). The only plus was the kitchen that was big and well equipped.

I wouldn't recommend staying there in a room (not worth the extra money) but maybe at the campsite...

$20 for a simple and narrow parking lot, too less power connectors, extra costs for showers.

    Bad campground!
