Little gem on the west coast.
$30 for powered site ( reduced to $20 for NZMCA ). Adequate showers and laundry. Staff very friendly and helpful, food and drinks very reasonably priced. We will be basing ourselves here on future visits to the coast.

Very friendly staff in the hotel, cheap and easy place to pullover for the night, not noisy on the adjacent road after 9 pm, wireless available from hotel, fine ablutions in backpackers.

DON'T GO THERE !!!
I'm usually tolerant but here... 25$ for a backpackers room. First the room smelt like the house of my old grand ma, no sheets or blankets provides is the first time that I have to sleep in my sleeping bag in a hostel, decoration ? Dead bugs everywhere.
Showers stink and mushrooms everywhere. Kitchen ? 1 microwave and 2 forks they call that a kitchen.
I left very early and spent an horrible night it was better if I've slept in my tent. And the staff should learn some rules about how to be friendly.
I repeat don't go there. Sleep in your car is better

Worst place so far.
Very smelly toilets, mushroom was growing in the lady's bathroom. Camping right next to the highway. Night was over at 6am when bikers started to see how fast their machines can go.Stayed in a tent. Not worth any price.

When we needed food and a place to stop this was here for us, which was great.
But the amenities are pretty terrible. The showers were disgusting and the carpet worn and dirty.

A place next to the road and facilities that definitely need some overhauling and some more cleaning.
The friendly reception and a cool bar / restaurant can't quite compensate that the whole place is not so well looked after.

We paid $15 per person unpowered and the campsite was next to the road .
There are hot showers but could be a little bit more clean and you can't lock the doors of shower\toilet. Lot of space and everywhere was a water supply. The free wifi was good and fast :)!
