Nice camping.
48$ for 2 people unpowered site, facilities outdoors. Has a pool and free showers.
Only thing is It’s pretty sad to see a parrot in a cage in 2023…

What a view.
Right on the lagoon edge looking across to Rabbit Island. The view looking the other way, not so much, but I guess that since they allow nudity it was expected that some bums might come into view. Notwithstanding that a great wee spot. The showers could do with a bit of a spruce up , but plenty of hot water. Say hi to Joey when you go.

Site was quiet, good spot away from other campers.
Facilities were good although basic with an outdoor open kitchen and bathroom which was great for summer! Staff were really helpful on checkin. We biked a short distance to Mapua wharf just down the road where there is a selection of bars, restaurants and shops.

Used to come here camping as a kid 20+ years ago and came back to share with my husband.
We both loved it and stayed an extra night as we didn't want to leave! The powered sites on the beach front are just perfect.
Hot showers (free), bathroom and kitchen facilities all very clean and well kept. Has laundry facilities ($4 washer / $4 dryer) and a few clothes lines too (byo pegs). Has a dump station and fresh water available.
Lovely pool and private beach. Short walk to shops, cafe, bakery etc.
Camping ground is 'clothes optional' during some parts of the year (was in March).

Nicely situated near the warff of Mapua.
Biking is the activity to do or just take ‘dive’ in the swimming pool! Or on cold day’s the sauna! At the Mapua warff eating fish and chipa or drinking a beer at the brewery!

Nice quiet place nearby the lake and wharf.
Due to the fires last month you the water is severe. Friendly hosting. Not overpriced, € 36 two persons, powered site

We loved it here!
Across from Rabbit Island and a short walk to Mapua Wharf with food and Rabbit Island ferry. Very helpful staff (Abel Tasman boat trips, kayaking, bikes brought to you). Pebble beach.
We had a nice powered site with beach access. 54$/night, we thought it was well worth it. Intended to stay 1 night, ended up staying 4.
Free, hot showers, 3 kitchens (large park).
On account of a very bad flooding in February 2018, the pool area has been remodeled (it’s for kids), and the loos next to us were portaloos (but „real“ and clean ones a little further away. The Café is open from 8:30-1:00/3:00-6:00, serves nothing but delicious coffee and real fruit ice cream and is run by the loveliest friendly Lady!
The best: NO SANDFLIES!
Two thumbs up!

Large park by a lovely inlet opposite Rabbit Island.
Told on arrival clothing is optional in Feb/March but no apparent takers ans cool and cloudy! Site is old and a bit scruffy. Facilities adequate

Facilities are tired, dated and overpriced.
Definitely would not recommend the kitchen cabin - it doesn't even have hot water...

Would not go there again.
We spent one night in December. It was quiet thus the ladies showers and toilet were closed and using the men's was no fun. And it's definitely overpriced! We spent over $50 NZD for two! Kitchen facilities old. Fun thing was the cockatoo and the good nearby restaurant, good food and nice service!

Sven, sorry you did not enjoy your stay...ladies toilets would have been closed as they were being painted and others were open just round the building (near the mens). (next time I will make sure that adequate signage is in place). All the restaurants in Mapua are very good and I am glad you had a good meal, including the one here in the Park itself.. Joey loves the company when we are busy. I do hope you enjoyed the rest of your holiday.

A bit old but charming.
Friendly host. Playground, tennis, volleyball, pool, water front... Facilities as large kitchen, bathroom, showers are clean. The campsite is very big and we had a free choice where to park/camp (powered side). We had direct sea view. A lot of permanent campers. A Café is located at the sea side. We can recommend a walk to the Mapua Wharf, great fish over there e. g. smokehouse (take away).

I stayed here during a November weekend, place was clean, good facilities, very friendly staff, paid only $20NZ per night for one person and a campervan on a powered site with an amazing view of Rabbit
Island. One of the best places to stay in the Nelson region if you love quiet and nature :-)
