We love this place & will come again and again!

About a 5 min walk down to the beach. Cost us around $35 a night for 2 adults, 2 kids, 2 dogs on powered site in Autumn. There are lots of permanent residents but they’re quiet & friendly & the camp is so big you barely see them. For the size of the camp the amenities seem small but I never saw another person in the toilet or shower the 2 nights we were there. It’s $1 for 5 mins of hot shower. The park for the kids is awesome, lots to do for them. Then 5 mins down the road at the beach is another amazing park. The beach there is incredible, the cliffs. You just have to go. The owners are lovely.

One of our favourite spots on our three week North Island campervan tour.

Very friendly hosts have done a great job with the grounds and facilities. Peaceful and private sites, though there’s no real need to get an ocean view site like we did as the view of the beach isn’t that great. Great wee cafe on site, plenty for the kids to do, and a summer lifeguard patrolled beach makes this a great place for families. We will be back here next year

I really wanted to like this place.

It started raining so we were looking for power and wifi to spend a cosy night watching Netflix and keeping dry. The front desk was friendly and welcoming, and it was fairly easy to find.

At $38 for a powered spot for 2 people, we were surprised this didn’t include showers.

Showers are a dollar coin per 6minutes, including the time for the older setup to warm up. The front desk will give you change but you need either an NZ debit card or cash to do this.

The wifi is spotty at best and cuts out every 15-20min so you have to re-login, defeating our night in. There is no mobile signal, so you are a bit reliant on it.

We had to mop the van out after staying here as while the spot to park is hard standing, it’s very narrow and getting in and out meant going through the deep muddy tracks left by previous guests and then dodging the potholes filled with water to get to the shower block.

These new owners took over the camp on the day of the lock-down.

What a hospital pass. They have made changes, presented every one either permanent or casual with a friendly and outgoing attitude. So from now on .May 2020. You can expect a wonderfully friendly and enjoyable camp ground.

Lovely campsite, very quiet when we were there.

Easy walk to the beach, and then miles to walk in either direction. Playground with flying fox at beach. Shop is vlosed out of season. Showers operate on $1 coin, temp and water pressure were fine, time was fine for good wash and rinse.

This place is so good, I ended up staying for three nights.

Everything is clean and well maintained, except the stoves. Only half of the plates are working... the owner seemed surprised... Finaly I managed to cook my meal.

    It's 20 $pp for a powered site, much space for everyone, showers 1$, 3 $ for laundry.

    Close to the beautiful beach.

1 GB free Wifi a day, very fast one.

The campground ist nice, and near to a stunning beach.

Lots of things to do for kids and a playground at the beach which is also fun for adults. Try out the flying fox!

The facilities are ok but the toilets and showers could be cleaner.

The surrounding country-side is stunning and the walk on the beach to view the sunset was spectacular.

The park itself is lush, green and inviting. The facilities however were extremely disappointing- having taken the fees for our overnight stay - that was the last access we had to our host - the BBQ gas bottle was empty - when finally tracking down a replacement it was dark and you couldn’t see what you were cooking - no light for the BBQ. Inside the kitchen a number of hot plates were not working - it was simply trial and error to work out which ones were operating. Looking forward to a nice hot shower ($1.00 for 6 minutes) - I undressed - put my $1 into the machine and waited - nothing. Wrapped in a towel I checked with another camper who suggested I try the other shower as it had worked for her the day before. Another $1 another wait - no water. No hot shower. Feeling disgruntled, I redressed and would make my thoughts known on departure. Unfortunately our host was no where to be found.

Fantastic place but let down by the lack of attention to the important things.

Showers need to work especially if you are paying for them. Gas for the BBQ. A light over the BBQ. Fix the hot plates or mark the ones that are faulty. Be accessible to your paying guests if there is an issue.
