A beautiful campsite surrounded by woodland.
Very friendly and laid back owner, a good kitchen, laundry room with dryer and iron. One unisex toilet but this was not a problem as the campsite was fairly quiet when we visited start of December. A great stop off between Napier/Taupo and Wellington!
(If you hear an air raid siren then it is for the volunteer fire service in town, not anything to do with an earthquake so don’t panic like we did!)

Remote location which was lovely and quiet and a perfect stop on the way down to Wellington.
Good facilities including toilets, showers, kitchen area and laundry.
A lake close by so we had some visits from the ducks when we were eating. We also spotted some deer on our way out.
Amazing host who got us very well settled and was super kind with the rain chucking it down on us. Thank you!

Fab location, picturesque, secure, well laid out, very well kept, good facilities, beautifully quiet, showers like Niagara Falls with no extra price tag. Nice chap running it. All in all, highly recommended.

At $28 for two adults on a powered site with flat hardstanding, kitchen facilities, hot showers and even a hairdryer, this was the best value we’ve had in NZ!
Owners friendly and helpful, dumpsite available, ovens and hobs and seating in the kitchen, well worth the stop to reset your van and just enjoy a hot shower!

Paid $20 for 2 on unpowered site. Excellent value given that you get to use all the facilities plus free wifi not capped. Plenty of room to park and extremely quiet location. Bathrooms and kitchen super clean. Good hot showers. Definitely worth a stop.

Although theres few attractions, it makes a nice stop over with hot showers, equipped kitchen and feeding deer park. Long term residents are friendly, but see strange hours. Flatscreen at the chilly dining room. 1Gb free fibre and coin operated laundry. Key word value
