Super cute little private campsite run by some lovely folks tucked away in a bit of a bush oasis.

Stayed a single night but the facilities were clean and lovely. Hot showers, warm vibes and a friendly group of people staying here. Would definitely recommend!

We paid $10/person/night for an unpowered tent site but with full access to showers, laundry, kitchen. What a deal!

Small place with friendly hosts, clean facilities surrounded by trees.

We really loved it there, even in the pouring rain.

    Lovely hosts.

Extremely friendly, very quiet site, toilets and the shower block extremely clean. Loads of hot water and you basically just park up and the hosts come and find you at some stage for payment and a chat! Highly recommended and very competitive

    Great spot.

Creek has toxic algae (rock snot) so don't swim or take dogs down there. Quiet spot. Facilities are old but clean and functional. Washing machine is only $2, but no dryer. Does have a good big washing line to use, with some pegs. Dryer at laundry in town was $10!!

Caretakers were polite and came through a few times through day/ evening/ morning to collect payment. Was $10/adult. Kids were free.

I camped here for one night in a tent (cycle touring).

This is a delightful little place, I really enjoyed my time here

There are free hot showers, and the bathroom/toilets are clean. There is a small kitchen with an oven and hob, microwave, kettle and fridge. There is a selection of crockery and cutlery if you don’t have your own with you. And a little first aid kit too!

It cost $8 for one person to camp - a real bargain. The owners were nice and friendly too.

Just down the road is Mt Bruce National Wildlife centre - they have a kiwi enclosure which is a lovely opportunity to see one if you haven’t had a chance.

    It just wasn't for us.

If you want rural and quiet with basic facilities for a low price this is your site. There are no staff on site. They appear later on for payment. There seem to be one or two permanent residents on the site and I think there is just one cabin.

The facilities are clean but dated, more homely than campsite. Couple of loos and a small kitchen.

There are eggs left on the side to use and herbs to use on the lawn edge.

There is no wifi unless you want to stand outside the library.

It wasn't well signposted but we found it down a narrow road.

    The BBQ looks well used.

TV reception is sketchy, didn't work for us.

Wanted to love it as the reviews are phenomenal, and we'd seen a great documentary on the town by chance a few days earlier.

This place, with a little extra investment and love could be fabulous, it just didn't do it for us.

Great wee camp, very friendly and laidback , large main area with good basic showers nd loos, laundry ....and you can sneak off down by the river if you prefer some solitude.

Only bummer was river looked pretty murky so didn't swim. Reccommend if you're cruisy and looking to chill....and...only $8 for me in my van...value!!!
