It's not fancy but it's definitely fabulous.
Don't come expecting luxurious accommodation and you'll be fine. Lovely welcoming regulars, a hands off approach from the owners, fabulous views and peaceful, even in peak season! Yes the facilities are a bit old but they're clean and the sunset was ace! We'd definitely go back

We stayed in a RV over a busy Easter weekend when the campground was fairly full so I can't comment on the cabins, many of which appear to be relatively new.
The camp is right on the edge of the lake. There is a small playground. The facilites are basic but clean. Space in the kitchen with only 2 cooking and 2 wash up stations was at a premium. Many sites have planting to provide much needed shelter from the wind. The sites need dressing to remove bumps and hollows. I thought that $20 per person for a powered site is relatively expensive for a basic campground.

A beautiful location but the cabin $110 for the night was very much 1960s70s, no tv, walk to the shower and to the toilet.
certainly not what you expect

Funny old Maori guy in the office, very idyllic, very fair price, remote area, less people.

Big mistake we did not view the accomodation and paid up front, never again!!
Do not stay in the $80 tourist flat. very dirty and tired looking, the fridge and microwave were filthy, yuk!! towels like rags, fridge that froze everything, had to put outside light on to eat dinner as lightbulbs blown. Managers nowhere in sight. We were told Hotel would be open for dinner that night and went along at 6pm it was closed, they just do their own thing over there in the off season.
