The place is very run down, taken over by unfriendly permanent residents everywhere!

Pet free place stinks of dog pee. Nothing peaceful about this, with cars coming in day and night, drunks roaming around from 3.30pm. Wouldn't recommend to anyone

Real friendly owners but doors on showers would be great, it would make children feel safe.

    Great place for family camping.

    Beautiful quiet camp.

Stayed for one night in a powered site for $30. Cheap as! Clean toilets and showers. Plenty to go around no waiting. Great atmosphere and hosts! Would go back again! Recommended.

Very nice place near the river, clean facilities, kitchen big enough for more people cooking at the same time.

Friendly owners. We stayed for two nights and we would definitely stay again :)

    Stayed over Christmas New Year.

Has all been upgraded, lovely toilets, showers (free !!) etc. Well maintained and clean. Great country site, plenty of room and you get to put your tent up anywhere in a big area, with plenty of trees - don't have to be right next to anyone else. Nice and quiet, great family spot, able to take our dog too. At $15 an adult (including power) is great value compared to everything else around.

The place could be really nice in terms of location, nature and surrounding wineries.

But it is rather rocked down and full of creepy permanent campers living in rusty old busses. $15 per person a night for a powered site is reasonable, but $8 for an 8 month old baby was ridiculous and the only place where we ever had to pay for the little one. In this case I would at least have expected facilities for babies (playground, family washing room...). Sorry, but I cannot agree with the last reviews that made me come here.

Arrived late after being recommended this place by the info centre, it's approximately 15 min north of Napier, was creepy at first, due to being the only non-living one staying there.

It's situated next to a vineyard, but can still slightly hear the highway if you are outside. The bathrooms are very well maintained and free hot showers. 14$ a night pp.

We decided to stay here because I had been there a long time ago and remembered the camp being in a pretty spot by the river and clean and well looked after.

I was so disappointed with what we found a few days ago and moved onto another campsite.

It is a little untidy and some of the grass hadn't been mowed in a while, but what truly horrified me was the 8-9 old buses that people are permanently living in. They are absolute eyesores, dilapadated, rusty with loads of rubbish lying around them. The word feral comes to mind.

When I stay in a campground I don't want to look out my window at these shambolic messes, and I don't want to feel ill at ease, it just felt creepy.

The owners have let a lovely spot go to ruin, what a shame.

Nice/quality, too expensive, $28 powered site but kitchen and facilities not looked after, full of insects, moths.....

Expensive laundry. we have stayed at other campgrounds for a few dollars more with much better facilities.
