Welcome to Tolaga Bay Holiday Park
We are situated right on the beach at the base of Mount Titirangi, at the start of the historic Cooks Cove Walkway, and right beside Tolaga Bays historic wharf. (The longest of its type in the southern hemisphere at 660 metres).
We have a fantastic sandy beach right in front of the park, safe for all types of water activities...or for just relaxing and enjoying the views.
° Kayak hire.
° Tractor for boat launching off the beach.
° Covered outside dining area.
° BBQ.
° Playground.
° Laundry.
° Fish filleting/cleaning benches.
° Great fishing for the whole family from the wharf.
° Ideal for school groups.
° Safe secure and clean environment for your family holiday.
Over peak periods we also run a small shop and wider activities for families.

Nice campsite, plenty of space for tents and vans.
Kitchen, hot showers and toilets, everything was clean. Awesome beach right next to the campsite, perfect location to hike Cooks cove track and see tolaga bay wharf. No wifi but good reception.
Not cheap, 46$ for 2 persons on an unpowered site. Don't bother booking the beach front spots, can't see the beach from there!

We stayed here for a night in Feb and really enjoyed our stay.
Our cabin was great, toilets were clean and showers were nice and hot. We had a great view and a great camping experience and the owners are amazing, very helpful and very friendly.

Standards at this place are well below par.
Very poorly maintained. You are asked to wear paper tags around wrist after entering. No wifi. Zip not working in kitchen. Plugs don’t fit the sink. Cold shower.no toilet paper in some toilets - all for $50 for 2 in a powered site. Will not be returning. It has gone well downhill.

Have to say this was the most horrible dirtiest place we have ever stayed.
We booked a DELUXE CABIN!!! $120 per night
When we opened the door the place smelt of mould you could see the mould on the walls carpet the hot plate didn’t work the tv didn’t work
We left super early as the smell made it hard to breathe
No refund given so $120 down the tube
If you go there don’t stay in beachfront cabin your health is worth more than that.

Basic campsite on the beach right by the wharf.
Facilities are a little old but tidy enough. Checking in was much more complex than it needed to be and all campers were made to wear wrist bands during their stay. The nearby walk to cooks landing was okay and the beach was good.

Very friendly owner.
Lovely campsite right by the Pacific Ocean and a stones throw from the longest wharf in the Southern Hemisphere! The facilities seem to have been updated since the previous reviews were written: there are old shower and toilet blocks which have been closed down and the new ones are nice with good hot showers.

We popped in for a short stop on our east cape exploration and ended up staying 7 nights due to their great winter deal.
$16pp power.
+ Very friendly staff,
+ Fantastic location and views. Is right on the beach and nice a close to Cooks Walkway,
+ Nice big spread out area to camp in,
+ Clean if a little dated facilities.
- In the men's showers 2 stall doors didn't shut properly due to the door hitting the seat in the stall,
- Kitchen a little dated, window panes missing.

Great spot next to the wharf, friendly reception , lots of room.
Toilets and showers were pretty average. However, one of the best we’d seen around the east cape!

OK stopover.
Fairly dated but adequate facilities. May not have seen it at its best as weather not flash. Close to wharf and short drive to town.

This was the most disappointing stay in NZ during our 6 weeks in this beautiful country.
The check in wasn't particularly nice, the lady told us later on she was sick, but still...she made us feel very unwelcome.
The whole place feels a bit tired. Toilet and showers really need an update. We had a cabin which was ok, but needs updating too.
Because of the lack of information about the facilities, we got charged a more expensive cabin than we wanted while all cabins were still available, but only found out later.
There is a large communal kitchen but doesn't have any kitchenware to use. When rainy, the place gets really soggy, there are no paths on the field. Location is great as well the view of some of the cabins.

Place needs a good handyman to work on it.
Shower and toilet latches don't work and light switches are to high up and hard to find in the dark. Window still broken in kitchen and hot plates either don't work or if they seem to take forever to heat up. Water tap near where we parked didn't work either.
Wharf is great. ( $5,500,000 spent on it. Shame some of the money didn't go to the camp towards maintenance.)
