The place is a honest camping ground with well kept facilities.
Very original, but clean. Beryl looks after the place really well. You don’t stay here for the looks, you stay here because of the location and the rugged style

Nice place.
Stayed for one night. Facilities nice and clean. Shower pressure not so good, but other than that it’s a good spot.

Great facilities!
Clean toilets and (hot) showers as well as a covered cooking area/kitchen complete with a fridge/freezer, electric hobs and small toaster ovens! Direct access to the beach. The owners are lovely, I hadn’t booked and they had no problem with welcoming me and even seemed apologetic that the beach was currently off limits due to Rahui and White Island. It is $15 per night (for a non powered site) I would highly recommend it.

The place was just wonderful and clean.
But honestly the best thing about this place is the love and care Beryl & Kevin put into it. I wish I could have stayed longer but I will def. be back.
Kev jumpstarted my van TWICE and they helped me create my first bonfire by the beach. Just amazing !

Lovely camp site, way above the very first impression.
Lack of WiFi isn’t a problem for those with a SIM card but a sheltered eating area is missing for those without a camper van. Good & clean facilities, hot shower (w/o timer!), filtered & delicious water and toaster ovens! But most important of all: direct access to a beach all to your self! Heartily recommended.

Thought this place looked a bit ramshackle when I first got there, but it turned out to be everything you could want for just $10 unpowered.
Right next to the beach. Clean facilities. Nice friendly folk. A great place for kids to run around and be safe. Highly recommend.

Don’t stay here.
It’s the graveyard for smash place caravans. Rudest man. We recycled and put small bag rubbish in bin with old yoghurt and got abused on way out. Toilets dirty, 1 shower unlocked and dirty with hair.
Only positive was nice beach. One review said appearance deceiving!!! No you get what you see, a shocker!!!!’

We stayed 1 night with powered site in a campervan.
Very friendly owner. Basic kitchen facilities but we did not need them. Clean toilets and great shower with hot water! Quiet camp. It is situated on a stunning beach. Our boys swam and boogie boarded. Recommend a stop here.

Cheap campground next to a great beach.
The cooking facilities were basic and almost outdoors. Old school washing machine with a ringer. Owner nice and helpful plus there are resident Wekas, this is great to see as they aren't found in a lot of places in NZ. All the facilities were clean and there was plenty of hot water.

This site is right on what feels like a never ending, stunning beach.
Clean, basic and well maintained facilities but a hidden gem which is well worth visiting. Owners are really welcoming and helpful. Quite a few family vans/batches permanently on site so clearly a well loved placed to stay.

We have been very well welcomed by the owner of the camping ground.
For 10 dollars we had a powered emplacement just a few meters from the beach. Hot shower is included and there is a small kitchen area. No check out time, the owner encouraged us to stay as long as we wanted to enjoy the beach. And people in the camping ground were very friendly. I really recommend this motor camp.

First: We didn't stay there so I'm not sure if the second impression would be better.
An open kitchen with cooking plates a fridge and power plugs. Washing machine very (!) old. No drinking water. Toilets looked okay.
Whole camp looked more like a backyard where you can also stay with your van. Two or three very untidy buildings (one was the office) and empty caravans. Very close to the beach.
Price: 10 $ pp (unpowered)
