    Ok campsite, with nice facilities.

We paid 50$ for an unpowered site with 2 adults. In relation to other places we have been, it was a bit pricey. The owners are very nice and you can chat with the birds and emoes

As described by others, comfortable, relaxed, quiet and spacious sites, low cost campground - unlimited access to the animal park.

Animals were amazing and highlight of the kids holiday. There are two swimming holes in the river across the road which is an added bonus. Facilities have been upgraded from previous comments and were very clean. Caravan dump site on site. Only downside was very dusty for the sites near the road due to the gravel road and passing traffic. Unsealed road 3.5km from highway.

    Best stop on the peninsula.

Access road mostly unsealed, okay for all. $18pp for site, showers and animal park. Complete steal. Only downside is park isn't maintained like a government zoo but can't imagine that possible with the open fowl greetings, and poo! Take gumboots, it's no joke. Highlights were feeding literal handfuls of Lorikeets, 4ft eel, cuddly bunnies, chatty birds and farm staples. Exotic pheasants go under the radar, but do visit them. No Wifi

Mill Creek Bird & campervan park is a such unique site that I cannot see anywhere else.

Birds and farm animals and especially these two lovely parrots saying hello and goodbye. The site has clean facilities, unlimited hot water and is very cheap.

This birdpark and campground is really worth its price.

We had a cabin with our 2 kids for 40 dollars. Tent is only $4nzd cheaper. Good entertainment for the kids. Facilities are really clean. Only minus: Minigolf and playground are quite old and rundown.

A nice change on a holiday full of beaches and crowds, this is five minutes off the main road into the hills on an unpaved but smooth road.

Well set out campsite and our 2 year old loved all the animals and the playground. Peacocks, duck and geese ate with us at every meal. This is an awesome off the track experience. Be aware that the large number of birds (it is a bird park) means any flat surface is likely to have its share of poop. No different to a day at the lake. If you let this put you off you'll be missing out on a great experience. Kitchen and facilities more than adequate. Unmetered hot showers worth it all by themselves.

Great place with a clean hot shower, kitchen, dump site, laundry (4NZD) and toilets.

The animals kept our kids busy all the time ;) 18NZD per adult including the animals, but they offer discounts.

A bit more expensive compared to DOC campsites ($15) but worth it.

Nice and quiet place (except the sounds of the birds), hot showers, kitchen with everything you need.

Went here because of the raving reviews.

Indeed a quiet camp site, lot's of animals for the children to feed and interact with but cleanliness was below expectation. There was animal poop all over the place, including the camp site grounds. The BBQ area and picnic benches were not clean either. There was ' stuff' standing and lying around everywhere giving it an overall scruffy feel.

We were planned on staying here a couple of nights but left after one.

    This is a must.

Camping is awesome here, the facilities are top notch and include the bird park anytime you want. So many birds and animals and a mini golf course in the playground. Is really one of those places you have to experience if down near Whitianga. Its our favourite holiday destination for sure :)

    Awesome cosy campground!

Fred&Gaye are fantastic and everything was perfect during our stay, even during full Christmas period. Kids had a ball with the animals and playing around this nice and safe park. We loved it!
