We came late when it was dark and the place looked closed.

The road to the soda springs is also closed almost directly behind the holiday park, so I guess they are closed as well. Since we were late we didn‘t call them so it could be that our assumption is wrong.

My wife and I have been going to the rotoma holiday park off and on since we were both 19 yrs old, and then with our children and are now both in our 50s.

We have stayed in so so many places, in nz and abroad and keep returning to this most beautiful and tranquil bush clad piece of paradise. The owners are top notch proud and beautiful family orientated people that keep it lovely and clean and are always always obliging..sure there are no big screen tvs all over the walls or bright lights bleering all night, just wide open spaces, generous camp sites, good hot showers and the most incredible bird song like no were else, we have ever stayed. And all this in a safe and secure family friendly environment.

We stayed here Anniversary Weekend 2017.

1 camper, 2 adults + 1 caravan, 2 adults. Found the facilities perfectly satisfactory and the camp was quiet, the staff were friendly and helpful, the sites were very spacious. Magnificent bush walks with very old native trees. 1km to Waitangi Soda Springs and good lake access.

We stopped to check it out as thought it might be nice and quiet for our family.

They wanted $18 per adult per night and slightly less for kids so a lot for what looked like very old showers etc, no playground. We generally go for pretty free /low cost spots without facilities as we like the beaches and bush but if you want to pay for facilities they should be decent.
