Good campground ~ we needed somewhere to stay for one night and it was perfect, clean tidy and good location and the staff were so friendly.

There was only 3 toilets open in the womens loo block which seems a bit silly considering there was quite a few people here. Quite pricey at $20 per person too but nice.

We stayed here in our tent for 3 days and the only reason we came here was because our two dogs was allowed to join us.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we will be back as long as our dogs may accompany us. We recommend this campground to others. It is clean and the staff are friendly. Close to the beach and the shops.

    Great place to stay.

It’s a popular place so book in first. Bathroom facilities were excellent and clean. Kitchen has toaster, kettle, fridges and convection oven these were tidy and clean but table was so sticky would have been nice if people using it actually wiped down surfaces after use. Would stay here again was close to beach and shops.

Lovely campsite with plenty of site space for a tent/camper.

Good facilities - BBQ ran out of gas and the owners very kindly replaced the cannister immediately so we could cook dinner. Reasonably priced and excellent access to the beach. The town itself is gorgeous with a couple of local very friendly bars!

Stayed a night taking advantage of it being dog friendly in the off season.

Very friendly owners even offer $1.00 coins added onto your site cost when checking in. $1.00 for a hot 5 or 6 min shower is great value. Also hopefully this would stop people hogging showers for long periods of time which happens at some sites during the busy season. Clean facilities. 2 mins to the beach and town. Hard to beat. Will we stay again, certainly. Would we recommend it, absolutely.

    Good experience.

$20 a night for 1 person non powered site- a little expensive but most coromandel campsites charge around this. $1 for a 6 min hot shower, facilities are clean. Friendly owners.

We were reluctant to stay here given the bad reviews.

However we did not want to cycle 30 km further to the next campsite on our route so we decided to stay. A pleasant surprise. The camp is clean, friendly and well run. Location is good. Kitchen is spacious and clean. Showers are $1. The town is very nice. I can’t understand the other reviewers!

    Joke of a campsite.

No noise control, people blasting music until ridiculous hours, owner clearly pulled a fast one charging $30 a head for a late booking. Facilities good but seriously, I feel like I've wandered onto the set of trailer park boys.

    Sadly very old facilities.

The kitchen area is rather loveless and looks more like a prison kitchen then everything else, to be fair it does have everything that you need. Everywhere are signs what to do and what not to do. Even in the shower are signs that skating is prohibited on the campsite. The price is $18 p.P. Showers are another 50 Cents für 5 minutes. Nice is that you get a wifi pass. In my opinion the free campsite right next to this one is as good.

The worst camping ground we've been to so far.

Dirty and very old facilities and they are not cleaned every day. Public toilets 100m from the camp are much better. Unfriendly staff. $18 for an unpowered site is really too much here. Really can't recommend it.

Whangamata has got a beautiful beach but please, please, stay somewhere else other than this town.

Having looked at the reviews for this and the neighbouring Settlers Motor Camp, we chose this one as the heavens had opened, it was late, and we didn't fancy driving further. I wish we had.

Horrible, horrible, horrible - says it all.

The showers, toilets and kitchen were clean however and the power pitch was large. However, for some odd reason the camping pitches are at the back of the facilities which front onto the permanent holiday homes.
