Very convenient location close to town.

We payed 18.50$ each for a non powered site, maybe is more for high season. Beautiful location on waters edge. Kitchen facilities and showers are available and included in price. Was told gate closes at 9pm but was not an issue for us. Was not set camping sites which was not an issue for us but imagine it could get busy during summer so would recommend not arriving too late.

To say this place is tired is like saying Rip Van Vinkle had a bit of a lie in.

Stopped in May for one night so out of season but even so, pool filthy, showers filthy, toilets filthy. Hot pools ? Didn’t dare go looking. This is NOT a Holiday Park but a place of permanent residences with spaces for unsuspecting travellers. Beware !

    Stay here for one night.

The view over the lake is nice but it is very old and dirty! The insects crawling in the kitchen and the showers are dirty. Not worth the $20 for one night with a single tent, one person. The wifi costs $2 for 250mb like the most places in NZ.

Recently stayed at Silver Birch Holiday Park.

Would never stay there again. The place is so rundown it may as well be pulled down. The managers don't look after the place. The toilets and showers were never cleaned. The kitchen was horrible. There was food everywhere. The sinks were full of food, the oven and stoves hadn't been cleaned. The rubbish bins were always overflowing. The manager rode around on a ride on mower but never actually cut the grass. There was a massive rubbish heap down the back which is not only a health risk but a fire hazard. The swimming pool was disgusting with algae growing around the edge of the pool and the water was green. The price of staying there was really expensive. The managers sure know how to rip people off. Wouldn't recommend the park to anyone.

Probably wouldn't stay here again if I had the choice.

Great location but not well kept and can be quite noisy. Place needs a revamp or a bit of a tidy up. My stay was a last minute thing, so didn't have time to check it out first.

OMG! It's horrible, will never stay there again even though it was only for two nights...

went up for an sporting event... Would never suggest this place to anyone unless it's your last resort! The rooms are cold, heaters are very old dusty & warned out, the beds are damaged, Was not happy!. To stay there was expensive considering we could have got something better and more comfortable else where. So don't be fooled on what you read about this place. Looking at the amount of money that they charge.... You would think that they would have updated everything. It's just a shame actually.

Don't expect to get any sleep if you stay at this tired and run down holiday park.

The managers allow music, drunkedness and shouting until the early hours of the morning. Stay at your peril. The only good thing to say about the place is the hot pools, although they could do with some long overdue maintenance.

My partner and I were extremely disappointment with our experience of this holiday park.

We had no pre-booked our accommodation and so pulled in to Silver Birch as it was in the part of the city we wished to stay. Being last minute there was a limited number of choices at the holiday park a self contained unit for $95 dollars or a studio motel unit for $105. It was then revealed the unit would in fact be $103 as there was a $8 charge for linen. We should have taken that as a warning, but it was later in the day, we had places to be and didn't want to appear rude, so we opted for the self contained unit

We got down to the room, over looking the water.... that is the nicest thing that could be said about the place. We got in to find a tired, cramped unit with barely enough room in the "living room" for the bed let alone any lounge furniture and the bedroom revealed two sets of bunks and a hole that appeared to have been kicked in the wall. The bathroom and "kitchen" were bleak to say the least. The room smelt stale, we deliberated for about a minute and turned round and headed back to reception to tell them we'd like to stay somewhere else.

Well we weren't refunded our full payment as apparently they would have to inspect the room and get the cleaners in. We weren't brave enough to say that would be a good idea, getting the cleaners in that is as it appeared they hadn't been in for some time! So $20 poorer we bet a hasty retreat and went in search of more appealing accommodation.

Don't be disheartened though, Tauranga is a great city and we found much nicer accommodation in the end for less than the price of this place.
