Everything was clean from the bathrooms to the kitchen. It was relaxing to stay in the hot water pool.

A fabulous job has been done by the new owners.

    Dog friendly

    Swimming Pool and hot pool

Brand new showers etc kitchen laundry

Movie nights for kids with a great communal area for all to enjoy.

    A coffee kiosk open daily.

If you want a big site make sure you ask for one of the larger ones when you book or when you arrive.

Won’t be the cheapest place but will def be one of the best you stay at.

This Holiday Park has the profit-thought present everywhere.

Prices are over-the-top for the offered location, size of facilities and extra charges.

We rented the double cabin which turned out to be just a box with a bed. No place to store anything. Not even a hook on the wall to hang a cloak or towel. Even the YHA provides a desk and chair in a room.

    - The laundry is 6$ and a rip-off.* That's 50% more than in other (TOP10) parks, so the explanation that the "costs for gas" are responsible is a bad excuse. Oh, detergent is not included, of course. A shoutout to the nice man with his granddaughter that donated a full box of Persil to share.

    - For hanging up laundry, you need to provide your own pegs - or BUY (!!) them from the reception.* As "People might steal them"

    - Interestingly, a sign in the laundry room says you can get baskets and pegs at the reception "upon request". They also have no baskets at all. Because "People might steal them"*

    - Location is okay, but check before you arrive. It's NOT walking distance to the town centre nor the lake itself.

    - The facilities are clean. But get heavily crowded on the weekend. The kitchen is ridiculously small and thus always full and noisy. There are a few more showers and toilets closer to the tent sites, however. Would like to write that the facilities were new, but in my shower, the shower head came off.

    - Needless to say that the 115$ per night for the sleeping box (double cabin) are entirely overpriced.

    - The media room offers Sky and a smart TV. There is also a gas fireplace, which you can use - against a charge.

    - The gaming room has an Emulator arcade and billiard which you can use - against a charge.*

    - To be fair, there is one special touch that we really liked: Not in line with the other extra services, and clearly overlooked, there is a well-maintained herb garden

    - The internet connection (in the cabin) was not good.

    * not the case in other holiday parks

We chose this campsite due to it being supposedly 'dog friendly' and the advertising of it having 'a warm swimming pool' and 'a hot pool'.

It turned out to be the most unfriendly dog-friendly campsite we have ever stayed at. The rules of keeping dogs on leads and out of public areas appear to apply only to guests paying for the privilege of having a dog there, whilst the owner's dog was to be found wandering all over the reception (a public place) and the cafe's outdoor seating area. On the first night, we sat in the well lit outdoor area, at the camping tables nearby the bbqs. Our dog was tied to the table. As the owner passed by, we were rudely accused of "hiding" the dog in a non-dog friendly area. We were well accustomed to dogs not being allowed into the kitchen, bathrooms and swim area, yet a completely open patio area was new to us, as seasoned campers. Had we been approached in a friendly manner, we wouldn't have been so offended. We were told by the owner it was considered a public space (isn't everywhere public in a camp site?) and the ban on dogs was a "cultural thing". I wonder then, why the owner's dog being in public areas doesn't comply with this "cultural" rule. This put a significant bad cloud over our stay. Aside from this, the pool was too cold to swim in and the 'hot' pool was barely tepid and had new lifeforms growing in it. We got out very quickly. Overall, we were incredibly disappointed with this campsite. It was expensive, the owner was rude and unfriendly and the facilities less than what was advertised. We won't return to this location. There are many more legitimately dog friendly campsites throughout New Zealand.

We had a awesome stay on a powered site that was cheap with amazing facilities.

The showers and toilets were cleaned dayley,I've never seen sinks so shiny!!

Cheap laundry $2 a wash with $1 for washing powder and $4 to dry.

Nice little playground for the kiddys and very close to town that's handy!

10/10!. Definitely will stay again and remember my togs for the thermal pool!

    Beautiful park.

The kitchens are well stocked with equipment. We used theirs instead of the one in our camper! The toilets were clean and showers were heavenly! The sites are large and their is water and power on them, this seems to be uncommon in NZ. The thermo pool was small but nice. The staff were lovely and the wifi awesome. We paid $54 a night but it was well worth it!

Really helpful/friendly staff and very close to the town centre.

Quite lively when we were there, but still had plenty of showers and kitchen space.

Powered sites felt quite private, with hedges in between pitches.

Bit underwhelmed with the Top10 claim.

Found it costly and had a bit of a weird vibe. Did allow pets on application for a $2 charge. The building exteriors are a bit hotch potch with dated colours schemes which added to the weird vibe but the actual facilities inside were clean and in good condition. Probably would’ve been more satisfied with my stay if it were cheaper.

Definitely the worst top ten we’ve stayed in, but driving distance to downtown (or a very long walk) and the couple that runs it are super nice.

Overpriced and don’t expect the best facilities but it wasn’t gross or anything, and works for location if needed.

while powered sites seem to be spacious and convenient, our non-powered site was the most narrow in our 2 weeks journey.

Borders between sites were not clear at all, part of our site was occupied by boat. We checked in just at 8 pm so there was no one to solve this. Also, paid wifi for this price is misunderstanding. Next time I'd take powered site and check in early to have time to liaise with staff, there's plenty of things that went wrong
