Got to the camp at 17:00, we were given our choice of any unpowered site, there were lots to choose from, plenty of green space around.

The kitchen is big and clean with good bbqs located nearby. They could use more of the common cooking pots and pans but it was ok. Great spa and sauna that can be booked for private use.

Went to stay here for a night in October of 2022.

We stayed at many TOP10 resorts over the last two week and this seemed like a sure bet. It’s a TOP10 classic and I would be weary of staying here. We paid. Sat in our spot and ate lunch and left. You can tell what kind of place it is when you drive in. The neighborhood is run down, trash outside of houses. Very much not the NZ vibe. This camp is very packed right without a lot of any green space which we really enjoyed having at other places. Also seems to have a lot of permanent camps but none of them look well kept. Overall would not suggest the drive. There is a great free spot 15min south on the beach.

Expensive for what is an ordinary camp.

Charged $50 for one night, one person, powered site.

Only stayed as it was late and poor weather.

Very nice and friendly place, well kept.

This was our last stay before returning the motorhome in Auckland, just 2 hours away. Do not miss the small store in the village with the friendly owner and his good burgers and beers.

We tried to camp with you today.

    Hi There

Site 32 does not have any access other than through existing sites.

This is not suitable for anyone camping. As my original enquiry noted, we have a caravan, so we needed to be able to get it on and off the site without driving through other sites.

I am very unimpressed, we have been camping at least once a year at Orere point for twenty years.

I can understand your desire to increase returns based on area sold but you have ruined a holiday we had been looking forward to for a long time. We now have two crying children who don’t understand why we could not stay.

What you did was dishonest and you knew it.

Do me a favour, ensure there is no delay in the refund as it is not yet showing and stop selling sites that only exist on paper. This is negligent and dishonest. If you had told us the site was not suitable we would have gone elsewhere, I am now out of pocket for fuel and time and have nowhere to go but back home.

I did not enjoy our one night stay.

At 3 am in the morning there was a very noisy physical fight between 2 very noisy men. It was right outside our van, quite scary and disturbing. One hour later an ambulance arrived to attend to the injured.

The recommended swimming hole in the nearby river was very uninviting. The nearby beach was strewn with rubbish and large dogs running around apparently unattended. The beach itself stoney and un-inviting.

Would not recommend this camp site.

We stayed here during a very bad rain storm March 2017 and were stranded as roads were closed due to mud slides and flooding.

Management let us stay the night for free and served hot scones in the morning. They made sure our van was moved to safer ground. They s. came by several times to see if we were ok and to give us weather / road closure updates. While it was a bit scary, we did feel safe and it was an adventure we won't forget. Of course when we travelled home to Canada the next day, we landed in a snow storm - can't run from Mother Nature. :)

I don't really know why we booked this holiday park, but it's definitely not worth being a Top 10 holiday park.

Wifi is only 100MB for free for one person (we're two). Hello? It's 2017!

We got two 5 minute coins each person for warm showers which is okay. The toilets, showers and kitchen area were a little bit old, but very clean.

But the whole area is kinda strange with all the permanent campers here. And there's not much to do here. We didn't feel at home here. It's okay for one night but I wouldn't stay longer. If we could choose again, we'd make our stop in Miranda. The price for a powered site (two persons) in my opinion was too expensive ($50NZ) for limited wifi and old facilities. Not a "Top 10" holiday park for us.

It is one of the best maintained campgrounds I had touring when New Zealand.

Showers and toilet extremely clean. I never had real towels in the toilet. Towels are a sufficient number for everyone. The only negative: the space for our camper van was poor.
