Great spot, stunning beach.
Worth the drive. Roads not bad at all. Toilets are basic, but look like they've recently been upgraded. Basic concrete block showers. They are $1 for 3 hot minutes...plenty of time for a quick wash. Got washing machines and dryers for $4 per load. Such a beautiful beach!

Really nice spot!
The sites are right at the beachfront. Unfortunately, there are no trees for shading so make sure that you have a good sunscreen.
Toilets, showers and kitchen are very clean. You need 2$ coins for the showers and there is no water supply.

Eigentlich sehr schöne Lage am Strand, der gute Eindruck wird aber durch die heruntergewirtschafteten Facilities völlig kaputt gemacht.
Total verdeckter und versiffter Grill, in der Küche funktioniert nichts, im Kühlschrank verfaulter Salat und so weiter. Die Eigentümer kümmern sich offenbar um nichts, so schade

Nice little location right on the beach.
Facilities a bit dated. Owner was nice and friendly. There's some nicer beaches in the area so worth exploring around a couple of the other bays

Incredible location, I couldn't have parked much closer to the roaring ocean without being in the water!
The beach is pristeen and beautiful and its very dog friendly.
It's a very special spot to spend some time relaxing.
Facilities very dated and a bit grim. Showers didn't work when I tried to use them.
The location makes up for it though. Be warned, the ocean is VERY loud if you're a light sleeper

Absolute beachfront camp site - not many of these around these days!
No roads or dunes blocking your gorgeous view. We got the last spot on Easter Sunday, $40/night for powered site. Family camp with all the facilities, and lovely camp hosts. Heard a lot about this spot in the past, and it did not disappoint!

Beautiful setting.
Right on the beach facilities are ok. Greatnplace to spend the winter and if you are a member of the NZMCA its even better as its a campersave member. I paid $8o per week 1 person on a powered site.

That was the best holidaypark experience ever here in NZ.
Great location on a smaller nice bay, great water. During mid/end of feb not so may people. Sweet, very friendly and kind manager. All facilities had been clean and in good condition. This is the place to be at this part of the island.

Beautiful spot with amazing beach front camping.
This is the 3rd year in a row we’ve stayed.
Great camp shop for milk bread and supplies you’ve forgotten. Staff are lovely especially the cleaning ladies that have their work cut out for them ! This is NZ camping how it used to be ..
Adequate very clean showers toilets and camp kitchen. Please keep this stunning spot as it is quintessential NZ camping.

This place is heaven on earth.
Probably the most beautiful place I have been to in NZ. However, the camp ground facilities and staff are below standard. Very little help from staff. Had to ask for park map. Was not told about camp activities such as kids movies etc (found out later trough other camper). The bathrooms, toilets and kitchen are poorly maintained. Spider webs everywhere and saw a rat in the showers. I was told shower tokens last 3-4 minutes- that is not the case. Not only the warm water turned off-the WATER turn off. So if you have any left shampoo in your hair you better have more tokens on you, because you cannot even wash it off with cold water. This is the only camp ground I have been to that turns the kitchen and bathrooms lights off!!! If you need to go to the toilet in the middle of the night- good luck finding your way. While I enjoyed the location, this is not a campground I will go back to, unless some major changes are made.

This is probably our favourite spot of the trip!
It is amazing, staff are super helpful and friendly. Right on the water and a lot of spots available. Only negative was we didn’t buy wine and unfortunately the campground shop didn’t have any hehe
