We are a kiwi couple with a rooftop tent.
Great location with amazing views. Netta (host) is friendly, helpful and inviting. Limited amenities take your own pots and pans etc. Loved staying here went fishing, diving, and walking. Highly recommend we will be returning.

I'm a DOC man, but Mrs M likes venues with washing machines!
I'm a DOC man, but Mrs M likes venues with washing machines!
When she suggested a site called Treasure Island I bristled with doubt.
How thoroughly wrong was I. Treasure Island is an absolute treasure, and one that should be on the itinerary of any camper-van user North of Auckland.
Venue - Stunning
Beaches - Stunning
Staff - Excellent
Cleanliness of kitchens and toilets - Impeccable
Facilities - Washing machines and driers, kitchen, showers and nice toilets.
General Feel - friendly, relaxed and nothing is an issue.
Would we visit again - without a doubt!

The place was very carefull, with plenty of space, really clean toilets and place in an amazong enviroment.
Next to a beautiful beach and with a lot of extras like swings and voleyball court. The owner was really really nice and cares about you

Amazing campsite with direct access to the beach and great views and super friendly and helpful owner.
In our opinion the best campsite in whole NZ, didn't find a better place during our one month journey through NZ.

This spot was beautiful.
Fantastic views with access to two very different beaches. Nita was lovely; very helpful and friendly. The grounds were beautifully kept. Kitchen & bathroom facilities slightly dated but everything you needed was there.

Beautiful location.
Well worth the drive out there. It's a big campground so lots of room to spread out. There are a small number of elevated sites with great views. The sites on the flat are also very pleasant. The managers were very friendly and the facilities are spotless. The nearby surf beach is very attractive. I'm not sure how good it would be for swimming as it looked to drop off quite quickly. Highly recommended.

Lovely host Nita made us feel very welcome to this amazing place.
We were the only campers the night we stayed and had a great site with sea view. Faccilities clean and short walk to beach, also great views from the top of the hill.

Nice location, worn down but clean facilities however 65 NZD for a powered spot (1 night, 2 persons) is just too much !

We rang and booked 2 sites.
We then emailed and questioned why they charged friends to visit the campers ( as per the FAQ) and said we were thinking again about our booking. Apparently there were too many visitors in the past so they brought in a charge of $10.00 per car load- they are within their rights to charge visitors. We said we were happy with this explanation and were happy to pay- however the owner took major offence at our query and we have been "Delisted" and can never camp there.... We cannot believe this could happen in NZ. His treatment of us was rude. I am pleased we are not camping with them.

Beautiful spot and gorgeous views from the upper terrace.
Well manicured and friendly host. Kitchen, dining and amenities basic but clean.
A 10 out of 10 would be warranted if it were not that the showers and ovens are coin operated, plus the cost per $20 pppn for a powered site.

We stayed 1 night March ‘18 & it was really lovely.
Nita was very welcoming & instantly made us feel at home. Really chilled atmosphere with short walk to beach. Showers, bathroom & kitchen facilities spotlessly clean. The site
Is very large, but not crowded / busy when we stayed.

Nita is lovely, amazing views and 5 mins walk to a surf beach.
Kitchen facilities are dated but well maintained, super cute dogs (although you can’t bring your own). Bit pricier than other places we have stayed, but you are paying for the view. Showers are good, 50c for 2:30 mins (so shower fast) :)

This is one of the best sites we have ever stayed on.
Stunning views and beautifully kept. Clearly a labour of love. We hadn't booked but Nita made us very welcome and showed us to the best pitch on the site "Marion Heights" from where we enjoyed stunning sea views in two directions, direct access to the beach and the lagoon which are both beautiful. The site was very quiet despite its size. The facilities were clean and freshly painted. There was lots for children, zip wire, high swing, long slide. Whilst we were there the owner lit a big fire in the big fire pit and campers were invited to join them. We loved it here and can't praise the site highly enough.
