Little Mount / Mt Peel/Huatekerekere track
Time: 4 - 6 hr return
Begin as for Deer Spur and continue on beyond the tarn, joining the main ridge and following it to the summit (1311 metres). On a clear day the views extend to Mt Somers, Mt Hutt and across the plains to the coast. The Tristram Harper Memorial Hut is just below the summit.

Three hour hike up but we went quite slow up, only two hours down.
Went just after a snow so was very muddy. A bit steeper than we thought but a DOC hut at the top to write a little note in the guest book. Views of Canterbury Plains as far as you can see.
